Why people wait so long to help someone hurt in a tennis match? is there some type of rule or something? ive seen it in many of these videos.
@arildaylperez90429 жыл бұрын
They would get disqualified if the medics go out to help so they wait to see if they really need them
@NealB1236 жыл бұрын
It's not like a football games where there's medical help sitting on the sideline ready to run onto the field if someone is hurt. At a pro tennis tourney, the medical staff (typically a couple of docs, a couple paramedics and a few athletic trainers) are located at a central medical office somewhere on the tennis grounds. When a player is injured, the chair ump sends out a radio call for help but it usually takes 3-5 minutes for someone to arrive at the court.

Because it’s tennis- the sport with the stupidest, most inhumane rules package in the world.
@rhiannonk31769 жыл бұрын
At first I thought Wozniacki was having a seizure, but cramps definitely are that painful. Tennis considers cramps to be a "training issue" and not an injury, so they don't allow as much treatment. If you're playing somewhere like Doha with that heat, it IS an injury.
@saragrant97492 жыл бұрын
Tennis has some idiotic- and highly dangerous- rules I must say. One thing for the cramps though- that is an electrolyte issue, they should be aware of that and make sure they are well hydrated beforehand (as in, the DAY before).
@moonlighter68 жыл бұрын
10:23 severe cramps but Wozniacki struggles on and wins the match. Inspiring strength and perseverance, BRAVO! I had some pretty bad cramps playing football in southern heat and humidity, enough to come off the field each time. I learned to hydrate with water and electrolytes beginning hours before games and greatly increased stretching of my leg muscles during workouts and before practice/games.

The most common tennis injuries are most often the "least serious" injuries of sports, specifically the ones that cause them to fall to the ground - inversions leading to simple sprains, chronic development of tendonitis, etc. You almost never see injuries requiring more than R.I.C.E. treatment. So when a player eases to the ground with no obvious breaks/tears/etc (and despite the cries they give out), it's treated as a minor issue. Not that they don't care, just that they understand the worst of the injury is acute pain that will pass in 5 minutes, transitioning to uncomfortable throbbing pain for a few days. Take the first player, for instance. Ankle inversion (rolled ankle), will swell and hurt like a bitch, but I doubt she tore anything (I've had that injury too many times to count). Many players cry not primarily for the pain, but more so for the fact they won't get to finish their match and potential win.

@ChristelVinot9 жыл бұрын
+ukguy Crying is an automatic response encoded within our DNA. You getting mad at a human crying is like getting mad at a human for screaming from fear. Anyone can boast about not doing something humans naturally do. For instance, one could boast about never having body odor. But the fact is, people naturally have it and it's there despite whether it's hidden or actively prevented in some way. Some have it worse than others. Some barely even smell. Hell, some people may naturally not smell at all. Some smell like death. Crying, shrieking, screaming, all are natural responses our body makes to deal with situations such as extreme pain or mental anguish, because of millions of years worth of evolution. And we all have varying degrees of it. You're not a science lover I guess. lol.

cramps aren't injuries, it's caused by overworking, overextending and or excessive contraction of a particular muscle. cramps can be spontaneous but, rarely. in a sport atmosphere it's is even more rare that cramp just happens. don't get me wrong, cramps can suck but, in no fucking way should be given the attention and apeasement that an actual injury gets.
