For me, the thing that put me off from dating, at least for now, is the this pervasive attitude that a woman’s time and energy is more valuable than mine. You hear a lot of these girls say things like “men need to get their shit together and treat a woman right” and it’s like yeah I don’t disagree, but when do I get to be treated right? It seems like as soon as you meet a girl, you immediately have to start proving to her that your even worth her time, but she doesn’t have to prove shit to you, and you only get “treated right” once you “earn” it. I’m a human being man, I deserve the same respect and compassion that is afforded to anyone else, so why does it feel like this relationship is so unequal right from the start and I constantly have to prove that I’m even worth treating properly? Feels pretty bad man ngl

That's generally how it's always been. Men have always had to prove themselves worthy to women as women are the picky sex. This is fundamentally the way nature intended us to be. The only problem in the modern day is that chicks seemingly want their cake and to eat it too. They want to be picky and have double standards (which is fair to some degree because men and women are fundamentally different) but they also want to be praised for a hypothetically enlightened/transcendental and morally virtuous position as well. Can't have it both ways.

Basically the mindset I've had since getting out of my last relationship back in 2012. Probably was a good thing I just focused on self improvement since then because I've done pretty well for my age. It does get annoying though whenever I go to family gatherings and get shit for being 30 with no kids and no wife.

@@KZbinCommentor1 I had the same mentality after splitting up with my ex after she cheated on me. I focused on self improvement and making sure I'm not settling for anyone mistreating or trying to control me. The end result was me finding my now wife of 8 years and landing my ideal relationship since it was built on mutual understanding and open communication of needs and expectations from day 1. Be true to yourself and don't settle for women who are not what your looking for in a relationship and eventually you will attract the right person. This is of course assuming you know how to be a respectful person and not cringe like the guys destiny describes who are emotionally needy. Make sure you get that stuff taken care of with friends or a counselor first so you can understand yourself first. You should go into a relationship needing something from the other person.

He also says that guys who are OVERLY emotional are a turn off to women, but not by men showing emotions in general. And then later he goes on to say that he doesn't have problems with women and his emotions because he "doesn't show them". He is not addressing the purpose behind the need to hide his emotions, even around people he loves. However useful or even morally correct it is to do you cant deny the fact that men are conditioned to hide their emotions because it makes them look weak, to women, to their children, to the world.

@Haywire5714

a few things: a lot of men are gonna be clingy and desperate because meeting women is just massively harder these days depending on your circumstances, so not really their fault. Secondly being funny, or being good at talking to women, or not being clingly/desperate doesn't guarentee success; in order to have success you have to have legitimate opportunities to meet women which can be extremely hard to come by depending on your circumstances. I'd wager to say that most guys in their 20s/30s are pretty normal/decent when it comes to women but they just don't have many opportunities so when Destiny is shaping his opinion about this from the perspective of what his girlfriends tell him he's not really getting an accurate representation of this bulk of men. Lastly women can make tons of mistakes when it comes to dating and it doesn't matter, however every mistake that man makes can mean the difference between continuing with a woman or getting ghosted (especially on online dating because of the extreme power imbalance). Overall i'd say dating will only get worse, men will act worse as their desperation increases and women will become even more selective than they already are which will eliminate any chance they have of finding a guy that they're compatible with.
@TheParaxore
@TheParaxore Жыл бұрын
I agree mostly but saying it's not someone's fault for being clingy and desperate just because it's harder to date women is a bit black pill. Everyone can improve themselves and mature. Personally I was very similar as a teenager but by the time I was 22 and had already had a failed marriage and I realized I needed to put myself first and be comfortable being independent and work on my weaknesses. Only then did I cultivate the traits needed to be receptive to a relationship with my now wife of 9 years. Before her I turned down several potential relationships due to incompatibility. I think a lot of guys are still in that desperate mindset and will try to date anything that moves for the emotional connection. Leading to horrible relationships with toxic women or even women who are just not a compatible fit. This turns some men jaded when those relationships fail when they should be learning from them. Also women do these things as well they just don't typically have to be as desperate since relationships are generally easier for them to attain.
@lizardjoel

@@TheParaxore dude already having a failed marriage at 22 makes you extremely outside the norm for modern people in the West that's the average age of marriage for our parents or grandparents maybe but if you had longterm dating and then marriage before you hit 25 and can legally rent a uhaul I'd say your lived experience is so outside the norm that you are most likely as incapable of understanding these guys issues finding women to date as they would understanding your issues as a multiple time married guy.

You make a good point for your last part of ur comment is so true an average dude with not a lot of options are willing to see pass a womens red flags like being clingy or creepy behavior while the reverse isn't true. If a girl thinks ur a creep even if u make a bad joke thats taken wrong she will most likely ghost u. But for good reasons they dont wanna date a psycho that could potentially hurt them(Obviously this is anecdotal but still true for many) Overall creepy or clingy behavior from any sex is not excusable to me if she doesn't seem interest they must move on and work on their flaws. U can't force a girl to like u and being clingy makes things way worse.

I HATE this conversation so much. My main problem with the topic is that people aren't being truthful with themselves and the people around them. People tell half-truths and it's the most annoying shit. For example when a woman asks something like, "Why won't men date me?" she isn't asking why men IN GENERAL won't date. She's asking why a specific group of men that she WANTS to date won't date her. Or women lying about the reasons they won't date a guy - "Well, he's too nice and too good." or "I didn't like this very specific, random thing about him." or some other goofy shit. The other thing is that idiotic men who act like women are literal goddesses and they will do anything for them are also a big problem. Also, the worst thing you can do is listen to an Internet Man who looks like a hobo with greasy hair giving you dating advice that doesn't apply to him because he got extremely lucky with his career choices.

It's nuts and getting to the top 20% of guys doesn't alleviate all the anger man you'd think it would be great after struggling to get there but tbh it makes you super jaded and it really tempting to fall into mysoginistic thinking seeing women who would've treated you in the past / how they treat average or below average guys while being turned on more the less you respect them or appear that way. I'm a Zoomer but it's making me jaded and bitter that most women my age in my area act like men used to in the 1950s how they treat the other sex viewing us with 0 or negative empathy expecting us to be stoic gods all the time never faltering or showing too much humanity just chug on provide and die and if you show empathy for men not lucky enough to get affection you get slandered and thrown in the same lot as them by mainstream society desperate to never listen to their pov and eager to humiliate and belittle men not found attractive by women. Also I'm sick of people acting like women never stalk men or harm them or are dangerous/nuts it happens roughly equally in my personal lived experience and yet if you as a guy with trauma don't magically fix and hide all your insecurities or nervousness from it women treat you like a douchebag while often chasing men who are literally abusive it's a clown world sometimes. I used to get treated like absolute trash by women when I'd literally physically risked my safety confronting an abusive man on the street for shoving his woman saying don't do that shit and knowing she then went home to give him time affection and care while I had to be bitter and alone for a few years until I matured into a sexy and talented gentleman who women now chase but Destiny's stupid takes here bring some resentful memories back so I'm sure he's making incels here from men who haven't found their talent/hobby/physical attractiveness yet because it takes time to and we mature later than women.

I really don't like destiny framing all men as just being douchebags for not being able to get women. While it is true, that more men are probably struggling more than in the past to do some of the basic things (clean house, be funny, be confident) he clearly hasn't even asked himself the question as to why this might be. Mental health problems have been on the rise 40% of high school kids report feelings of depression, and 15% report feelings of suicidality. When one thinks of the symptoms of depression as listed within the DSM 5, and if more men are truly struggling with depression, that would mean they are more insecure, less motivated, and generally feeling more hopeless. It shouldn't take a genius to figure out why they might be struggling with these basic things and therefore, struggling in the dating sphere. Destiny comes off as just another crazy feminist calling these men who are struggling "Incels, Doughebags, Rapists" and immediately rages at chat the moment he gets a modicum of pushback.

"Trauma dumping" is just another way of delegitimizing men's feelings and emotions. How often does a man opening up end up being about how the woman feels about hearing the news and the conversation ends with the man catering to his gfs emotions instead of his own? Women believe their emotions are more important than men's, and they don't have the patience for men's emotions, hence labeling it "trauma dumping."

People need to be way more careful trying to get dating advice from the internet. Most people are just gonna recount the things that worked for them without critically analysing why those things worked or whether it's advice that's applicable to most people, or comparing their experiences to others. Very few people who give advice do it in an objective, critical manner. Another negative effect of chasing dating advice is that you can easily get overwhelmed by the number of different things that you seemingly need to do to be successful: you need to be confident but not arrogant, emotionally available but not trauma-dumping, interested but not needy, attractive but not vain, hard-working but not overly so, and so on. The truth is that nobody is going to get all of these things right all of the time, and trying to consciously do all of them at once is just going to overwhelm you and prevent you from being naturally yourself.

If its as easy as he claims to just walk up to a girl and talk to her and boom your in the top 90% of guys then id love to see Sneeko take him to a random bar at a random town and have Destiny try to pick up girls just by cold approaching them like 99.99% of guys do. Get ready for shame, insults, guilt, and the need to be right. For some reason destiny correctly identifies that the above is useless to motivate people and actually demoralizes people, but men make for great punching bags and are the exception. As an average, normal, level headed man, everything is put on you, ESPECIALLY the failure aspect. Women will likely never have to be in the most risky part of approaching or attraction. More and more men are solely depending on social media or dating apps to meet new women. How do you show off that you're considerate, have a good job/doing well in school, you clean your room, your bathroom, your clothes, you cook actual food and that you shower every day in six pictures on Tinder? He's more likely to keep a girlfriend but he's not more likely to be immediately attractive than a guy who's much better looking with the slightest bit of charisma whose life in the background is falling apart.

It doesn't matter tbh. The issue is the high level men will continue to use those and women will continue chasing those men. It makes no difference to women if the bottom 95 percent completely got off the apps because they're not actually going for those men anyway. If anything it would just fix the "bug" in dating app feature in women's eyes because they won't have to thrift through all the low value dudes. The only way for dating to go back to normal is if all the people including the high value men and women as a whole stopped using social media. They would never do this though as long as they believe they're benefiting from these apps.

I have an abundance of respect for Destiny and rarely disagree with him about anything, but when it comes to relationships, women and dating advice, I just disagree with virtually every point he makes. In my experience women have little to no patience or respect for emotional men. I was dating a girl for 6 months and my dog died one week before she broke up with me. I cried a couple times and was really fucking sad and then she dropped me like a pile of soggy garbage. When Destiny says the vast majority of men live like slobs, lack social skills, are man-children, speak to women like she's their mom, etc it's a problem. Let's assume it IS true, even still, this is the same thing most guys hear from women, parents, social media and many social circles they live in every day all day long anyway. We're constantly told we're trash, and the level of determination a guy needs to overcome the barrage of negativity instead of succumbing to it and giving up is more than most dudes for whatever reason can muster. She saved you a lifetime of belittling you for being a human being. I'm married now but I've cried in front of my wife before we got married, on multiple occasions for serious family trauma shit. Early on she started off telling me how odd it was for her (she clearly didn't like it) and I basically told her it wasn't gonna change and if I need to cry over some heavy stuff, I will. I wasn't an ass about it of course but I'm gonna cry on occasion. It is what it is. She could take it or leave it. I suppose I can say I'm lucky she just stayed with me lol. But there's zero chance I would have stopped just cause she found it off putting. Crying is cathartic when emotions run high. It's part of the emotional regulation process. If a woman finds it off putting she's free to leave 🤷🏾‍♂️.

These women in the beginning are saying men need to put aside their pride and do what needs to be done to make a woman feel loved, but that 9/10 times is never reciprocated. Men for decades have been taught to love, care for, and provide for women from a young age, but women are no longer being told how to care for and love men. Women are taught they are a prize to be won, and they need to put in no effort to deserve to be fought for. Were constantly telling women they don't have to take care of their body because they are beautiful no matter what, if they cheat its the mans fault because he wasn't enough to satisfy her, if she gets emotional and physically assaults you, you got to just take it because your a man and she's a woman. Growing up my father taught me how to be a "man" and do the things women shouldn't have to do. When the garbage needed to go out, I asked why couldn't my sister do it, they said because that's a mans job. When they needed the dishes done I asked why couldn't my sister do them, they said shut up and do what we asked. The hypocrisy is out of control, rules for thee but not for me is a phrase that often comes to mind. I no longer think women are worth caring for, loving, or providing for. Not until I meet the 1/10000 that understand that all relationships are about give and take, I have no problems doing things that need to be done, as long as I feel it is being reciprocated.

This is such bullshit. I'm sick of women pretending like they have nothing to do with this issue. Of course, they do. Women have vastly more leeway in their dating choices than men. Women have climbed up the ladder of relationship choices. To heights most men cannot achieve. They have more experience, they have more value, they can afford to say "no" more than men can. It used to be that both men and women had to settle. Why? Because the only way to find someone available was to date within a limited friend group, go to bars, find someone at your work... Etc. Now, with the dating culture moving online and women have VASTLY more options than ever before, we're seeing women realize that they can basically have the pick of the litter 90% of the time. And I'm not even mad about this fact. I would do the same thing and I think most everyone else would too. It's not a problem in a vacuum, the fact is though, the result of this is a bunch of dudes who don't hit the mark and are basically shit on by women. Every incel I've ever talked to has the same fucking stories. Do you think this is a coincidence? I'm not even going to attack women here, but I think it's important to stop bullshitting and pretending like this isn't on women at all. It most definitely has something to do with how women behave toward certain men. If you don't meet a woman's criteria, as insane as that criteria may even be sometimes, you'll get shit on and rejected. Probably called a creep too. Men do not behave like this. Can we also stop telling men to just, "Get some confidence" or to "better yourself and further your career, then you'll find someone"... That is such a lame line of reasoning. If these guys could do that, they'd have done it by now. Do you know how men get confidence? By getting attention from women. It's basically a no-win situation a lot of these men are in. They are stuck, 25 y/o, living in mom's basement, never had a relationship in their lives. They are depressed, broke, hate themselves, and blame it on women in many instances for not giving them attention. How do you fix this? It's like finding a drowning man in the ocean and telling him, "I'll only be able to pull you into the boat if you can swim to me and help pull yourself up because I'm not strong enough to pull you up alone"... Which sounds good until you realize the guy has been treading water for days and doesn't have the energy to swim or to pull himself up anymore. If only the person in the boat showed up a day earlier, maybe things would have been different. A lot of these dudes just need a chance, but I don't think they even deserve one, which is just sad. They have become so anti-social and so resentful that they wouldn't even be able to handle a relationship if one was thrust upon them. Nor can they even attract a woman at this point. They've forgotten how to talk to people who aren't their mother. Not to mention the mental trauma they'd go through the moment said relationship blew up in their face. Either women start sucking random, fat virgin's dicks or this problem isn't going to go away. LOL. Obviously, I'm joke but I'm sort of not joking too.

@@Syk-nz1qq I’ll be completely honest, and this is all from personal experience absolutely observations so take what I say with a grain of salt. This “game” and developing a mouthpiece concept is total BS. In order to be confident and to understand that you’re good enough, you need prior positive reinforcement from others. Confidence doesn’t solely come from yourself and will, it comes from how people reflect you. If people praise, compliment and are more positive around you the more likely you’re going be confident. Same goes with understanding yourself, if your love ones supports you life choices and careers path, you’re more likely to have better understanding and acceptance of yourself. When it come to “game” and a mouthpiece, I’m sorry to say but that’s all up to how the woman feel about you. There are Chad/Tyrone types I know irl that are reserved and don’t say much to a woman, and they enrapture. The thing is everything you just said is to some extent a very red pill thing. Confidence does come from praise, but in order to be praised you must accomplish something. You have to work on yourself, get in the gym, help others, have strong moral values, strive for Financial freedom, be someone others rely on and look up to, etc. Those are all red pill concepts. I think people confuse red-pill observations with complaints. Red-pill is ultimately about blaming ourselves. We cannot change the world but we can change the little things within our control. I think the reason so many people are troubled by the concept of talking to anybody is because of too much time not socializing in person. Talking to people in person is a skill. You can talk online and never notice body language changes, the way a room changes when you say certain things. It is greatly appreciated when you can conversate with anyone and can reply back with something that ADDS to the conversation or ask a question that allows them to elaborate more on their interests. If you have ever worked in sales, one thing you learn is how to talk to people, because when you are trying to sell something you may have the product, but the person is what buys the item, thus you have to talk to and sell them on the idea of buying it. This can apply to everything though, If you are trying to get a woman to like you, sell her on your best qualities. trying to convince someone you username is not feminine in nature, sell them on the manly aspects of it. just my 30 cents

I met my wife off one of the dating apps a few years back. Listening to our friends both guys and girls talk about dating the reality for most is expectations of what a partner should bring to the table has been elevated to an unrealistic level. Way to many young people are expecting a higher standard of life from a potential partner while not really bringing anything to the table to match those expectations. You see it in these videos as well. The notion that a young person in their 20s is going to be comfortably clearing 6 figures while also maintaining a work/life balance is incredibly unrealistic. Those people who fall into that category are going to be hyper selective about who they want to be with as they are living a very accelerated professional lifestyle.

It depends on the type of person/relationship you're looking for. I don't see anything wrong with men or women sharing past traumas, because I like helping people and I see it kind of as a cry for help, they probably haven't gotten to talk about it in any other instance and emotions have to be processed and released so they're just doing it with someone they barely know but not everyone wants to do that on a first date I think is what he was saying. You can definitely find different types of people though, people that are a bit more emotionally open likely have no problem listening to someone vent (people vent to me all the time and I like giving advice so I don't mind), and some other people find that to be very off-putting which is also valid, just different types of people.

I only agree that she may have a point with his complaining, but the whole commentary about him needing to be a man almost undermines it all by implying that the need to not complain is one-sided when it isn't which then puts into question the whole criticism. Is she being reasonable with saying this, is she just too different from you, or does she have a skewed concept of what is excess for complaining?

nah. if you're not doing the things that would create a masculine or feminine person you're not living up to your part. if a man can't handle physical combat and has no mature characteristics that would lead to fight and work success like a stout body, logistics of mind, strong neck, willpower then I will not pity him in not getting women because the issue is never not being able to get a family and build, it's always about pleasure. for women a ridiculous amount have actively been killing their femininity so I really don't see most as worth any commitment. both men and women reaped what they sowed.

I suffered abuse from my mother when I was young, and I now have deep schizoid tendencies. I don't understand why a woman that suffered abuse can behave this way and be protected, but I can't. I don't want to socialize with people who expect too much of me because I don't enjoy social interaction, despite wanting it to some degree. I support feminism, but please, don't have double standards for men who are also struggling with their own childhood abuse.

I'm sorry for what you experienced. I truly am. But I don't recommend anyone (men and women) to date when they haven't dealt with their past/current trauma's yet. People who say that women can do that, or are allowed to do that, are honestly so wrong for doing that. I always say to my female friend who has trust issues "don't start a relationship yet when you haven't dealt with that yet. Because in some way or another, that will lead to bad consequences for the both of you". Even if you can't eliminate those tendencies ever, just learning the skills and tools to deal with them in a good way when they do happen, is already great.

@@GG-vl9xq That's the same logic as saying those with mental illness shouldn't have a job or go to college. How are they supposed to get better if relationships are a fundamental part of feeling ok? Time, pills and therapists can only do much. What is incredible is how everyone prefers to keep such high standards for dating instead of allowing some room for error. Undoubtedly the best way to eliminate trust issues is to create meaningful relationships; otherwise, your supposed healing exists in a vacuum bound to fall apart. Sure, it may lead to harmful consequences, but those are already granted by refusing to try.

@@washingmachinedoesntneedme4947 how to explain better... why dating/being in a relationship is different than friendships, jobs, college... is because it is way more intimate. So intimate that in some way or another, they will influence each other. So the chance to drag eachother down will be way higher than with friendships or other kinds of relationships. You don't have to be 'cured' to start a relationship. You can still go in a relationship but you have to have the tools and skilled to lower the chance of harm (mental and/or physically). That's a responsibility you have to take upon yourself. If you're already in a relationship and you see these things happening, I don't recommend just breaking up. I recommend to deal with these problems with a professional.

@@GG-vl9xq I mean, if you're talking about being responsible with oneself, then I agree. If you're saying you have to be responsible for the possibility of hurting others, I think that's their responsibility. It's patronizing to say women can't take care of themselves, and we men should have the tools and skills to care for them. Of course, if you mess up, it's expected that you get criticized for it. Most professionals can't help because they are often not qualified to deal with people outside the norm, no matter how many degrees hang on their walls. That's my experience. If you're worried about me, thanks, I'm fine. I'm not currently dating or even trying to date, and I have a somewhat good therapist I visit from time to time. I don't date because I don't feel the vibes, and I certainly do not carry the vibes; maybe things will change; who knows. I wished I could talk with Destiny about this because I think he's undervaluing the number of people who are actually struggling with their own demons.

@@washingmachinedoesntneedme4947 no no. Taking responsibility for one self. So if the woman had issues, they take the steps to minimize the chance of harm. (Go to a professional to learn these skills an tools. Don't expect the partner to 'fix' it for you) The same with the man. So not patronizing. I get what you're saying. But just the fact that you put in that effort, makes me think you're probably already ready to be in a relationship. As long as you have the self-awareness of your situation, triggers... is already very good. But if you don't want/need a relationship right now, that's also good. I'm the same. I don't want to get in a relationship right now. Already 3 years because I don't feel ready yet. Not the same reason as you. My self confidence got messed up to the point I losr myself in a relationship (just do things I don't agree with to make that person happy. Step by step, I couldn't recognize myself anymore. That was not a good experience)

Misandry is well accepted in the majority of progressive circles, including destiny’s, apparently.
