To solve most of these problems, we have to design our city's corridor build for only sidewalks to leave room for pedestrians 🚶♂️, trees 🌳 planted on the sidewalks and placing rails to separate a narrow lane for bicycles 🚲 and the use of wheelbarrows or push push carts in align with the main roads or streets for vehicles adjacent from the sidewalks. Parking spaces must also be constructed to avoid traffic congestion and road obstruction..

Yes and stomach problems is a very common occurrence, but nobody seems to equate it to dirty food being sold in unhygienic conditions. Raw chicken for instance is placed out in the hot sun, with flies everywhere.Salmonella poisoning is common, but unheard of here.

I think it Would be a great idea if we start to build a grand central local market somewhere in an empty space to accommodate as many traders, vendors or sellers design and properly organize and set up in a way to avoid too much overcrowding and disorderly occupancy inside the market. .If things are bad now because of overcrowded and congestion, I can only imagine what it would look like in 5 to 10 years from now. If we don't prepare ourselves for the inevitable to come in the near future, We will be in for a big surprise as to how overwhelm the country will face in the near future..I say let's get on with it now and start building and it doesn't matter how long it takes to finish but the plan starts NOW..This is a sign to get the country together and prepare for what is to come..Failure to plan now is planning to fail ourselves in the future..

The minister and all persons in charge of this operation are a disgrace. I am not a Gambian but have vacated there numerous times and have seen for myself how different the local areas look from the holiday places. Yes, the clean-up in Gambia is NEEDED, but what gets me is how this operation is taking place without any preparations of where these low income vendors will relocate to. Gambia needs to understand that these are the people who are contributing to the economy of the nation as they continue trading locally. It's simple econimics. The whole entire operation has left the country looking like a war zone 😳, in more mess than before it began and with uncertainty for the future, uncompleted demolished buildings and with no expectations of clearing the mess left behind. This will definitely impact the tourism revenue if quick thinking and action is not implemented asap.
