@@cmcordoYTwell, where to? It isn’t as easy as just taking her away to magical unicorn land where everything is perfect… the foster system in the UK is horrible… just like everywhere else. It is overfilled as is… so unless a child is truly abused abused they don’t do anything about it. It’s sad for the children… but if we truly were to take every child away that’s in a similar situation… more than 50% of people would lose their kids in an instant… and that is not something this broken system can handle.

@lenibeni7421 I don’t know how it is in the UK but in the US a two-year-old child would have no problem getting a home, There are many parents who have fertility issues and have to wait years to even have a chance of adopting any kid below three years old. I don’t know how it is in the UK though. Also, I can’t believe how a mother could just abandon her adorable daughter like that not only neglecting her but harming her health, I’m the second oldest and a family of eight children and I remember every time my next sibling was born. I would treasure the moments I spent with them A lot And they’re not even my kids, so I can’t imagine how a mother could do such a thing to her daughter Especially with how bad the effects of child neglect are on a developing Brian

Yes, she seemed so sweet and good-natured. Neither of those useless parents deserve her. It was interesting and actually a little disturbing that she seemed to show no signs of "making strange" with Kerry, or of missing her mother. They have no bond, which is actually a worrisome thing. It could affect her ability to bond with anyone throughout her life, and later on lead to anti-social behaviour. Toddlers and small children never crying or even fussing when separated from a parent, and being equally friendly with every adult, even total strangers, is actually a red flag for attachment disorder, which can be a precursor to serious conduct disorders in children. It may seem cute and loveable when a child to whom you're a stranger runs up and hugs you, but it's not normal. It's sign of emotional disturbance.
@nicoledoubleyou

@@KathyPrendergast-cu5ciword. You're exactly right. Your child should miss you when you're gone, should cry or at least be apprehensive of strangers if you're around, look to you to make sure be new people and situations are ok/safe, and constantly go to you when learning a new environment. If they are eager or happy or even just regular with strangers, it could mean they have no attachment and seek that attention and a affection from literally anyone or are apprehensive of literally everyone.

The sugar part is insanely true. I remember quitting sugar for about 6 months to get in shape to enlist. About a week away from leaving for boot camp, I got myself a slurpee from 7-eleven. A small one but just 4 sips in and it made my heart race. I was dumbfounded because before getting in shape, I could chug a large without issue. Sugar is dangerous and it’s overshadowed by the fat conversation.

Not disagreeing with your statement and how sugar affected you. Sugar is not bad in small quantities, it’s the overconsumption of sugar and the high amounts of it that are added in processed foods that are dangerous for health. A 7-eleven slurpee has so much sugar in it, of course your heart will race after a few sips of you didn’t consume sugar 6 months prior. Drink a very watered down apple juice instead and your heart will not be on a race track. It’s about balancing the amount of sugar you consume

And yes, all of those ladies are pleasant and make reasonable demands who have no trouble letting their man be a man or leader. Sometimes men just are assholes. And yes, they tried to work but Kindergarten/School is a mess these days and family is far away oftentimes so they would either be barred entry into both learned and unlearned professions (because they have children) OR they would be kicked out fast because they had to take care of their sick children. I have severe depression. I got myself a Husky, a very demanding dog breed, and he forced me to crawl out of my depression to care and train him. There are times I can’t clean his area and his tray, but when there’s poo involved I clean it right away, and it snowballs into me cleaning everything up. Sometimes, SOMETIMES, depression is an excuse to be lazy, and even when you’re depressed you should learn how to overcome it or else you’ll just be stuck in a hole. Getting told “move on even when you’re depressed” is not an “ableist” advice, it’s for their own good.

I think depression can encourage unintentionally narcissistic behavior. You feel so broken and down that you give up on your responsibilities which can make you act in selfish ways. You're irritable which makes you meaner, and you get stop caring about your looks. You need medication and someone to give you a kick in the pants to get your brain and body back working. But I had a dog, (she died unfortunately because of the illness propagated by ticks) but I adopted another dog 1 year after her death, then another few years after. I always made a point of being the best for my dogs, and yes they forced me to crawl out of my symptoms. But careful, because depression can be so severe that you could potentially neglect your dog (I'm not talking about you or me but some people won't be able to take care of the dog properly) Having a dog is a great solution to fight depression and loneliness, but it's not easy. I wish you the best.

It's child neglect, not child abuse. Despite the best efforts of postmodernists, words still have meanings. Child abuse, child neglect, and child endangerment all mean different things. @@nuggynugs that's the core of my issue. "Child abuse" has been expanded beyond what it ought to be, largely on emotional grounds. In a fashion similiar to the use of bombastic words like "fascist" or "racist". Abuse is an action, it's something you do or commit. While neglect is the absence of action. Truthfully. My previous comment should have been "they're dead" rather than "they've been stabbed". Because by expanding a word bell beyond its original definition, you just make it a nebulous and general term. Which will eventually necessitate to invention of a new word, to define specific action in the future. For example, when someone says "Josh is racist" do they mean Josh hates people of other races and thinks they're lesser than him? Or do they mean Josh said the N word once? Or do they mean Josh opposed Black Lives Matter's actions in 2020? Or do they mean Josh walked in to an indoor trampoline park and said "wow there's a lot of black people here today."? Likewise, when someone says "Linda is a child abuser" do they mean Linda molested her child? Another person's child? Did she put her cigarettes out on a child? Did she hit her child? Did she lock her child in a closet for several hours in the dark? Did she scream at the child constantly? Did she verbally berate the child and psychologically abuse it? Or did she feed it McDonald's? Have her son wear a dress a couple times when he was a baby? Give her daughter boy and girls toys? Feed her child sugary foods? Didn't feed her child _any_ food that _could_ be considered unhealthy? Sat her child in front of a TV all day while she played world of warcraft? Wouldn't buy her child anything she wanted, ever? Forgot her child's birthday 4 years in a row? Gave her child an IPad to play with at 5 with a youtube app? Gave her child a cell phone at 8? What did Linda do? Can you tell by just the phrase "Linda is a child abuser"? Because you used to. Once upon a time, it was a lot easier to get an accurate idea of what Josh and Linda were with such labels

Idk sometimes a child is what saves an addict. A child and a good, strict, nonenabling man can do wonders for an addict. I was an addict. I was doing my best to change cuz I wanted to feel like I deserved my bf. Then I found out I was pregnant and decided I would not give an innocent child an addict for a mother. I am the child of an addicted single mother. So I've cleaned up my act... but I never would've found the strength to do that if not for the fact that I believe (know) my kids deserve the best mother possible and that my bf deserves a woman that will raise his children well and keep things clean and running smoothly while he's working to support us. I would never tell my children they are what saved me, since that's an unfair burden to place on them, but they absolutely did and along with their father they save me every day of my life from my weaknesses because my love for them (for my family unit as a while, honestly, there's no way I'd be a good mother without their father beside me, being strong and reliable and supporting us, so that my only 'stressors" are housewife and mother duties) is 1000% stronger than my biggest weaknesses. My first baby even had autism and I've had 3 baby boys, about to be 4, since Feb 2020. 4th due in Feb 2024. They keep my mind occupied and give me purpose and pulled me out of a pit I was unable to get myself out of. I know what it's like to be the neglected child of an addicted mother and I'll never ever put my children through the life I went through. I will never let them feel like I don't love them enough to stay home and stay sober and play/interact with them. I'll put everything I've got into making my relationship with their father work despite there being many many things to work through with him, and I'll stay sober because that's what they need from me, it's the least I could do for them, and I'm going to give them everything I possibly can cuz that's what they all deserve. I'm sure I'm a rare case, but I hate to think how my life would've ended up if I hadn't been able to start a family, it gave me direction and purpose and keeps my mind too be occupied to even consider drügs. Ive with a ring I bought from the hospital where I gave birth to my first son, every single day, as a reminder of the promise to him and my other children to never touch hard drugs again.

I’m from the UK. The welfare system is broken is very broken, people like Kelly are rewarded for doing nothing. Yes some people get caught for fraud but it’s very rare. She would have likely kept the house or had been sized down because she has children. Growing up in a council estate I know people who get paid out £1500 a month from the government claiming they’re badly disabled when there’s nothing wrong with them at all. I feel really sorry for genuine disabled people who often don’t get much because they don’t often get much support and they struggle to go to a benefits office and/or others don’t have a good mental capacity to fill out a letter. The benefits system in the UK is really crap. You have thousands of immigrants welcomed in to the country, put in council housing and get more pay than some people who work. Plus the British citizens aren’t much better, a lot of them lie to get more money and checks are very few.
