+ranhill ...I was just thinking the same thing. This is want how you dominate in a sport. I think some of these current athletes need to see this is how you do it. Dominating a sport doesn't come by winning a few races and you haven't been to an Olymics. When you have longevity and have been around as long as these ladies have, that's domination.
@ranhill8 жыл бұрын
+Kantrice Dorsey yes, and all winners of individual medals. SRR and Trotter 400 Olympic gold and bronze respectively, Mills World Championships bronze, Antyukh 400 hurdle Olympic Gold. And the key is patience. Hard work and discipline, along a strong mind and good genes equals success and longevity in the end.

And Christine Ohuruogu still competing as well. She's on leg 3 for the Brit team. I think Sanya Richards Ross has retired now though.
@ranhill8 жыл бұрын
eddy chelsea Yes, at the time I made the initial post SRR was still going until she blew out her hammy in Atlanta a few weeks before the US Olympic Trials. She has indeed retired and and transitioned nicely into broadcasting. She did a great job as color analyst, along with Ato Bolden, for NBCs Olympic coverage.

Doug Raddi . Just a reminder Doug, beauty fades, as does athletic prowess. We have a very short window in which to shine. I don't say this as an x good looking athlete., I was born ugly, with no athletic ability whatsoever. Not overweight, just not gifted. I remember when I was 15 at High School, and it was sports day. The woman in charge of physical education made me line up, to run a race that I knew I would not only lose, but come last in!!! When I was at junior school, I came last in the egg and spoon race, I couldn't get that fu#king egg on my spoon. Everyone else had finished. My mum said, 'well, I'm ashamed of you'. So, forward a few years, and I was forced to line up again, for something I didn't want to do, cos I didn't want to look like a fool. Well, the starter pistol went off, and I turned round and walked away!!!😂😂😂 This woman went ballistic threatening me with the cane etc. I remember saying, I don't f'ing care, I refuse to participate, so what are you going to do, kill me????? She walked away, finally admitting defeat! 😂😂 I became a qualified Registered Nurse though, so my gifts lay elsewhere. Just thought I'd share!! 😏😏😏

@@serenityflies1462 I'm sorry for what you experienced early in life. I'm going to have to disagree with you on what you said about beauty fades. There are some people in this world who get better with age. I know a lot of men and women who are better looking or kept their looks well into their life. You are right that we all lose strength as we age, it doesn't dissuade me from acknowledging beauty when I see it. Take care
