Awesome scene! The funny thing is the original song - (Won’t You Come Home) Bill Bailey - was written and first recorded in 1902. So now it really is, as Jane says, an “old American folk ballad that’s been handed down for generations.”
@themirrorsofmymind4 жыл бұрын
_It's funny 'cause it's true..._ But, seriously, this is like in "The Simpsons" when "Lisa" says to "Nelson" _"Wow, there's so much I don't understand about bullying."_ NELSON: _"Yep, there's a lot of history there. Did you know it predates agriculture?"_
@johnnotgalt26974 жыл бұрын
themirrorsofmymind That exchange in the Simpsons is funny, but I was making a slightly different point here. My point was that “Bill Bailey” would not have been considered “an old American folk song” when this aired in 1962, but it meets the definition now. What was funny to me was how time passes to make certain statements true. All best!

@jimmymackster331856 жыл бұрын
indez23 well here's a little interesting fact The Jetsons and The Flintstones weren't originally meant for children they were aimed at adult audiences but kids grew to love them and they became children shows and when the Jetsons came back in the 80s they made the episodes more child friendly and aimed it for a younger audience almost 2 decades after it originally aired in the early 60s
@67nairb6 жыл бұрын
The 80's JETSONS episodes were not good. The stories were rather lame and the animation wasn't very good. But the worst part about these JETSON'S episodes was George's boss, Mr. Spacely. In these 80's episodes Spacely was a really mean, nasty and despicable piece of work not merely hot tempered. In these 80's JETSONS episodes, Spacely seemed to take great personal enjoyment of making George's days at work a living Hell. He was worse than Mr. Slate on the FLINTSTONES who for the most part was a fair minded boss and his frustrations with his employee Fred were often justified. I think Spacely was worse than Mr. Burns on the SIMPSONS. Though some would think otherwise. I for one am not SIMPSONS watcher. Someone said on the internet that Mr. Spacely was so mean, he made drill sergeants look like ice cream men and he's probably right. On the opposite end of the coin George Jetson in this 80's cartoon version was a craven little spineless coward who let his little boss berate and bully him and never stood up to him. In the 60's JETSONS episodes he had more gumption and Spacely had a nicer disposition too. The 1980's JETSONS cartoon might've a been little better if Spacely hadn't appeared in so many episodes. His character was so loathsome, there was nothing funny about him. Too bad, his voice was done my favorite voice artist Mel Blanc, the Man of a Thousand Voices himself who I absolutely enjoy. I don't have to describe to any of you Spacely's physical appearance. You do notice that Spacely has a toothbrush black mustache resembling that of Adolf Hitler. I wonder if Hanna-Barbera when they designed Spacely they gave him that Hitler-like mustache to go with his personality. Probably not.

WIll never forget another contestant's rendition of "Little Star" in her best Zsa Zsa ("Tvinkle, tvinkle leettle stah, dahlink..."). Was it Miss Jupiter? Wish we had that part of the clip.
