Totally agree. I was 16 when Spiral Scratch came out and Another Music in a Different Kitchen album. Actually, we were living in Chorley in Lancashire, UK at the time and the Buzzcocks were a new band from just down the road in Bolton, greater Manchester, UK. I've always been a big fan of their raw punk fusion with melodic pop type music (New Wave). Still listen to their stuff even today.

@@JimmyFranceable No I have never heard of Lou Reed....punk fashion, proto punk (something Lou Reed had a serious hand in as I am sure you know) and UK Punk are all subgenres of Rock & Roll, the UK punk scene had boomed way before Velvet Underground ever released anything that remotely sounded like the punk standard across the UK in the late 50's to the mid 70's however he did sound closer to those that made experimental rock & roll in the mid 50's so I am sure we can class him as an additive to the landslide which was the Rock & Roll scene finding new paths. FYI no one created punk that is a stupid assumption to make as even if it did stand true does it provably tie back to this person?, as I said before punk in itself was a response to the unhappy and dreary toska felt by many within the working class across the globe and those who feel they have nothing to live for to just thrash around and dance about for abit..you know to get out of that hell bent madness at the time, still stands true today.

I'm in distress, I need a caress, what do I get? I'm not on the make, I just need a break, what do I get? What do I get, oh-oh, what do I get? What do I get, oh-oh, what do I get? I only get sleepless nights Alone here in my half-empty bed For you things, seem to turn out right I wish they'd only happen to me instead What do I get, oh-oh, what do I get?
