Superhero movies are dumb by their very own nature, that´s why they are fun... What is rare for me though, is when a goofy superhero movie makes a real commentary about our very own screwed up human nature, like WW84 unapologetically does. That's one of the reasons why I loved the movie and Wonder Woman is easily one of my favourite superheros. But yeah, to each his own, i guess.

That's actually one thing that isn't awkward in this scene. I forgot the term that is used to explain it but the speed at which things APPEAR to move is dependent on a number of factors like distance, speed of the observer, and other things. Kind of like how a large airplane can appear to be moving very slowly even when it's traveling several hundred miles an hour. Just think, if you're reading this you're probably sitting at a computer, but even then you're moving at about 1,000 mph (the speed the Earth spins at). Yet it seems like nothing is moving because everything around you is moving at that same speed as well. Combine that with the lens used in that shot which has a narrow field of vision that creates a distorted perspective. Plus, it's not really implied that the vehicles are even meant to be going THAT fast. A lot of people aren't away, but in the vast majority of chase scenes in films, the vehicles rarely ever go that fast. That's usually cheated be editing: Lots of short, fast cuts. Shaky camera, close ups, and really only showing the exciting parts of a chase sequence. Now don't get me wrong, there are a lot of flawed things in this whole scene, but that shot you referred to was not one of them.

The problems with Wonder Woman's fights is the number of times Gal Gadot is replaced by a stunt double, even for things that aren't superhuman, things she could have done, as in the past she was in the military and also had a training of martial arts for movies. The fight with Barabara should be much more extensive, in general, the cuts hinder the perception of movements, which compromises the fun. It doesn't make sense to have a protagonist for a physical role with little screen time in the action and fight scenes. Stunt double must act in scenes with risk and very specific skills, the rest of the time we want to see the actress' performance.

I admit I give them credit for at least TYING to show her running incredibly fast in real time. It's an extremely difficult thing to do without making it look ridiculous. Did they succeed? No, because it still looks bad. But they tried. Maybe someone will figure out a way to do it and make it work, but won't happen if people don't at least make the attempt. The majority of movies will cheat and use slow motion to try to imply super speed. And yes, they cheat in a few shots during this sequence as well. Maybe it's because I know how hard it is to get right, the running didn't really bother me.
