💖WONDER WOMAN was INCREDIBLE💖 Gal Gadot slayed it. I really enjoyed seeing her experiencing things for the first time and her overall genuine curiosity of the world around her. She was so compassionate and cared so much about people which is something I really admired about her. Loved that this was an origin story and that I got to see the background behind that photo of her that I first saw in Batman v Superman. The romance between Diana and Steve was so cute, was sad to see him go in the end, he did an honorable thing. Incredible performances all around! I really hope you enjoy my reaction😄

One of my top 10 films too!! My favourite scenes are: 1) in the war room. She reminded us that everyone is important. 2) No Man's Land. Nobody should ever be left behind. She inspires action. Next up is ZSJL!! Loved your reaction @LoveLaurenn, you're super perceptive. Quite a surprise that Sir Patrick is Ares right? I think that's often the nature of evil / war, it may be what you least expected. He reappears briefly in ZSJL, back when he was still in peak shape (before his defeat by Ares as said in the history lesson scene). You should catch Aquaman after ZSJL too! WW1984 wasn't very good... But I think it's still worth a watch. It doesnt have a lot of the elements i loved about the first one, but I think its core message is still in tact for WW. I'd like to just point out that Zack and those who works with him for BvS, MoS, were removed from the production of WW1984. Not sure if this was what led to a poorly written sequel, but it could have been better.

I stopped being a Wonder Woman fan after this movie. I had been one since the 70s with Lynda Carter. I found Gal to be vile, and I believe her to be a man hater in real life based on the improvised dialog during the boat scene. She is trash.

@@McMahonHater I've watched the film 3 times. What part are you talking about? I'm not taking the piss, I just don't know. Also, your comments about Gal are way out of line. This film was great, and just because you didn't love her as a person, doesn't mean you couldn't enjoy her performance as Diana.

The WW1 setting gave this movie all the extra gravitas it needed to be truly special, rather than just good.. Originally, Wonder Woman's origin story took place against the backdrop of WW2 (although in the 1980s her comic origins were rebooted and placed her meeting with Steve Trevor against the Viet Nam war). I believe the main reason they chose to set this version in WW1 was because Marvel had only just released Captain America which was also a WW2 origin story. Whatever the reason, using the "Great War" or the "war to end all wars" just seems so fitting for a showdown with Ares himself. Easily the best of Zack Snyder's DC movies (in my opinion), due in no small part to Gal Gadot's superb performance. Sometimes an actor is just such a perfect fit for a role, they embody it completely, and it becomes impossible to imagine anyone else doing it half so well. That's what happened here, and it was magical!

On my KZbin Channel I've posted multiple scene breakdowns for "Wonder Woman" (2017) including one for "No Man's Land". There are so many elements that cinematically coalesce in that moment that as someone who is invested in the story you can feel it, even if you aren't 100% conscious of all of them. It is phenomenal storytelling.

In my opinion, it's a so-so film that tries to follow the style of Captain America. And Gadot has bad acting and facial expressions that get worse with each film (that's what happens when you hire a model instead of an actress).

Every time someone point out how bad Captain Marvel was with its hero motivation and character arc (or the lack of it), there is always somebody claiming that men are toxic and hate female led movies. But everybody loves Wonder Woman. Men don't hate female led movies. We just don't need some movie lecturing us of how terrible men are. We just want good stories.

Loved that you enjoyed the movie so much. On to Zack Snyder's director's cut of Justice League! One thing that they didn't really address in this was the fact that Diana was the daughter of Zeus and Hippolyta. That's why she was the only child and was so powerful. As far as comics, look for any Wonder Woman drawn by George Perez. He revived the character back in the 70s.

Great movie and reaction to this movie. My only gripe about the movie was the third act, where Ares shows up when Diana was confused as to why Man was still fighting. Why war did not stop. Greg Ruckas had two great runs on Wonder Woman. The Rebirth one is very good and happened a few years ago. There are other good ones by Brian Azzarello and Grant Morrison but those are more subversive and work if you know traditional Wonder Woman. Laurenn! Did you notice the moves she made against the Germans while inside the building? Notice that they seemed realistic, not computerized, not jumpy or somehow impossible? It's because they used real stuntwomen to do the moves, then placed Gal Gadot over top. I believe the woman they used in this scene was a black-belt champion in Chinese Kenpo, Japanese Goju Ryu, and Taekwondo, Caitlin Dechelle. You can watch on your own. You were saying bad-ass? One thing that I think the DCEU kind of got right was that the movies seemed pretty careful to not only include a fairly diverse cast (because representation is important), but they didn't cast anybody to be a stereotype. They don't lampshade it, play it for laughs, or draw attention to it. Wonder Woman was played by Gal Gadot, who is from ISRAEL. Diana (the character) is from a secret island society comprised completely of women, and that's somewhere in the Mediterranean Sea. So Gal Gadot's real-life natural accent lends authenticity to that character, but it's not racist, it's just kind of considerate. Aquaman was played by Jason Momoa, who was literally born in Honolulu, Hawaii. I don't know if you know a whole lot about Hawaii, but the sea is a pretty significant part of that culture. So much so that Arthur Curry (the character) has full body tattoos based on an actual tattoo that Jason Momoa (the actor) has in real life on his forearm. But it's not racist, it's just kind of considerate. ... I mean, they even cast a complete weirdo to play the Joker.

This, plus Man of Steel and Batman vs Superman have gotten you fully ready for Snyder's Justice League! Be prepared though as it's a LONG movie (seriously though) But don't let that put you off as it's amazing! (don't bother with WW84 though, it really sucks... Ares wasn't originally going to be in this film. As Patty wanted (with some input from Zack) man to be the enemy. Due to studio meddling they added the Ares fight as the climax of the film. In this universe (the Snyderverse) Diana probably has the most themes. Her theme here is beautiful (as the Amazon princess), but as she goes from princess to warrior you hear the theme from BvS. I will say if you want more of Steven Trevor(actor Chris Pine) I humbly recommend that you check out the 3 reboot Star Trek films(Star Trek 2009, Star Trek Into Darkness and Star Trek Beyond). This film does have an important bit of information about Gods in DC.

My only problem with this film is WW first showed up fighting in World War II not World War I. I also wish they had let Lynda Carter, who played WW in the 70's TV show, play her mother.

Ivan Reitman of Ghostbusters was going to direct the project and Sandra Bullock was cast to play the titular character, but it was cancelled after BATMAN and Robin received negative Reviews by Critics and fans. From 1999-2015 a lot of actresses were considered for the role: Angelina Jolie, Lucy Lawless, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Charisma Carpenter, Christina Hendricks, Jessica Biel, Megan Gale ( she was cast in the cancelled Justice League movie from. 2009), Olga Kurylenko, Elodie Yung, Alexandra D'addario, Megan Fox and Mariah Carey. Gal Gadot signed on for the project along with Director Patty Jenkins. It took them 2 years to film the movie.

well comicbook are very complicated, since theres always reboots, but if you want to learn more about wonder woman especially in DC rebirth comicbook's and some of my favorites. Wonder Woman and the Justice League Dark: The Witching Hour Justice League Dark/Wonder Woman: The Witching Hour #1, Wonder Woman #56-57 And Justice League Dark #4 The new era of Justice League Dark dawned with Diana as the leader, and writer James Tynion IV puts the focus on her in this volume as the evil witch Hecate takes aim at Wonder Woman’s soul and the secret it houses

Most people don’t realize The Public Library is a great place to borrow comic books and graphic novels. Nothing new of course but free. Lots of big hard cover graphic novels of the silver and golden age of Marvel and DC 👍

Watch the 2009 animated movie of same title …”Wonder Woman”, it’s an adaption of one of best runs from the comics, and pretty much whole influence for this movie too, it’s great

Loved your reaction Lauren. When you eventually do react to Justice League, make sure to watch Zack Snyders version which is the 4 hr cut. It is the directors true vision, before WB brought in Joss Whedon and butchered the movie.

Great reaction...and same here, I LOVED (or rather 'LOVE') this movie. I also love the fact that they didn't make her into a 'Mary Sue' character who always knew all the right answers, never had to train, and never displayed any weaknesses. Nope...they did the opposite and made a multi-dimensional character who was naive to the outside world, didn't have all the answers, and did indeed have to train since she was a child to grow into realizing her true powerful potential. Contrast this great well-made DC-Comics movie with the very poorly done 'Captain Marvel' movie Mary-Sue character from Marvel Studios. The boring uninteresting one-dimensional Captain Marvel 'Mary Sue' character was an all-powerful know-it-all with no challenges and no character development. This is why I will always prefer the few DC movies from the past 10 years over the dozens of Marvel movies over the past 15 years or so. The DC movies (especially the Zach Snyder movies) are just gems.

Hey Lauren. May I say firstly, not only do you look very beautiful but I really love your style. It's good to see those who express themselves and who are comfortable in who they are. I like those who are different in a world where many seem so alike. As to wonder woman, I love this movie. At first I was concerned it was going to be done poorly but they did so well with this. I feel also that Gal Gadot is a remarkable woman. She seems caring, down to earth and at times, fun to be around. A great reaction as always. Have a fantastic day, take care hun. ❤
