I'm really glad that Ben stuck to his point on war. Holywood is so pro war, even in movies acclaimed as being "anti war". Americans hardly know what it even is to be against war, it's so ingrained in us, as Ben points out.

I liked how this movie portrayed war and the battle sequences weren't so brutal that they were inappropriate for kids, it was made to be a family movie and I liked all the male characters in this movie except for General Ludendorff.

This movie caught me by surprise. It was very entertaining through and throughout. 8/10 and the best comic book movie together with Logan (10/10!) since The Winter Soldier. I actually have hopes for DCEU now especially after Matt Reeves has been signed on to make The Batman! Keep Patty Jenkins in stall to make more Wonder Woman movies along with Reeves' Batman and the future looks bright for DCEU.

No spoiler i promise 🤚🏽😁 #1 she is not sexualized, but feminine #2 age appropriate cast, the mother the aunt are women of a certain age and they are beautiful with no makeup. #3 The realistic diversity of all the amazonians meaning there color shapes and sizes. #4 this movie, unlike other comic movie shows the realistic consequences of war on civilians ( children separated from their parents, soldiers wounded, famine and chaos) with out being to gory which makes it perfect for children (depending on the child 8 and up imo) to watch. #5 the acting was GREAT! #6 the action scenes were TOTAL BAD ASS! But major differences of not only location, population, more than 1 opponent and mastery of combat skills but, Clark was raised in a different reality than Diana. She grew up in paradise, training. He was an orphan in a society, very much like ours. He is way more under-developed in a combat and rescue sense than WW. come on now.

Films like these are usually violent. Raiders of the Lost Ark is set during WW2. I think that is probably OK because it's an action film. We do need stories that tell the reality of War, films like Saving Private Ryan. I just think for an action film having funner violence is usually ok because they are stories of Good vs Evil.

The problem with the final battle is because you know the movie takes place so long before the rest of the DCEU, there's really no serious stakes involved unlike what the reviewers said, to get truly invested into what happens. It's like Wonder Woman is still around in the current movies, so it doesn't matter what happened here. Despite that I thought it was pretty good, but god the humor they were trying was just wrong on so many levels, just terrible. This didn't need to be funny, but they went on with it and it stunk. It took away from a movie that was on a track to be great.

I felt like the movie may drag but before I knew it we were at the end. Lot of the humor in the end of the 1st act and in the 2nd act we're great. (They're not jokes. Jokes have punchlines.) Gal Gadot was very charming and see why she was cast as Diana. Her sense of humor for sure won the casting directors over. The villain was rushed by basically being underdeveloped but I think Patty Jenkins handled that masterfully. That could have easily been a wreck. The moments between Gadot and Pine were perfect. Just wish we had a couple of more before the end which really creeps up on you because the first two acts fly by. Movie's only and biggest flaws were the villain and a few cheesy lines and moments at the end. You can tell the wanted to make this a lighter movie. But all-in-all it's hard to find much wrong with it. It's not the most amazing movie ever, but at the same time there's hardly anything wrong besides those two things and does a lot of great stuff. 8.9/10

After seeing Wonder Woman and her theme music started playing in BvS, I wanted to watch her movie. This was a very good movie and one of the best super hero movies. Gadot was a charming, exotic beauty while looking really good kicking some ass. The chemistry between Gadot and Pine was also charming and caused the audience to care for them. The story was pretty good and the pacing with the drama, humour and action was done quite well. Nicely done by Patty Jenkins she could be what Nolan was to Batman, she should direct the next Wonder Woman movie. I think her next conversation to Warner Bros should be show me the money baby. ----- Spoiler alert --------- It's a shame Buttercup died quite early in the movie. This is not a big deal but when she killed fake Ares with a sword she leaves it on the roof and had to get it back when real Ares pops in. That was ridiculous, she's a well trained warrior man and first rule of fight club is never leave your sword and shield behind. Steve Trevor's death was done quite well, it was touching and adds gravitas to their relationship and story. Also Spud was Ares? WTF now that was a twist.

KZbin has made everyone a movie critic now. Yes, as an audience we've become wiser and expect more from movies like story and special effects. But what happened for just enjoying a movie. A movie is only as good as the expectations it sets and it really comes down to whether the movie is worth seeing in the theater, is it worth seeing worth seeing at home, or is it worth seeing at all. Everyone has their guilty pleasure movie that are terrible but they love watching it. Then they are good movies that some people find boring as hell( The Revenant im looking at you). It's really about preferences and what you expect. In my opinion, Wonder Woman is worth seeing in the theater. I enjoyed it for what it was and I look forward to see where they take the character.

I loved this movie and I would definitely see it again. There were a lot of great points made in this review, to many to get to so I'll just focus on a few. The last action sequence was forgivable because of her humanity and the fact she was cognizant of her surroundings unlike in MoS and BvS. I definitely think they did do a better job of depicting war and the gravity of it, could they have taken it a step further absolutely. War isn't something that should be glorified by any filmmakers camera but scrutinized by it. I don't know what's to come from The Justice League movie but the DC universe and Warner Bros. need to follow Wonder Woman's lead for future movies.

Wow, I tend to agree with the WTF crew, but this time they went really over the top. One of the best superhero movies? Not even close, IMO. It´s a fine movie, it has its high points, but it´s nowhere near the top tier. The writing is lazy, the characters are not well-rounded (especially the supportive ones - just compare it with the Guardians Vol. 2!) and I absolutely don´t agree that Gal Gadot was this amazing presence. Her acting range seems to be three looks and being pretty. The action was good, some scenes worked, it has a great score, and I can appreciate the efforts for diversity (Sameer, Chief, etc.) and the woman-power angle. It´s clearly the best movie in the DCU (by a lot), but that is in and of itself not much of an achievement. 6 points.

To the antiwar point - another thing that gives the movie a more serious quality is that we know the German soldiers she kills are not unambiguously the 'bad guys' like they are in WW2.

two Things. I love that Ben is trying to see it from a realistic point of view, but this isn't suppose to be a historic movie about World war 1. I did like his point about not seeing any Americans die in any of the wars, mainly because the Americans were completly passive in both wars. Espeically in WW2. Also to Alonso i think we need to point out that Gal Gadot is from Isreal, Connie Nielsen is Danish, and most of the women you see apart from Robin Wright are international sports women, sooo that they speak with an accent is pretty much how they talk. Again apart from Robin Wright. The movie is violent yes but if you can take a 6-7 year old to see any other superhero movie or star wars for that matter you can take a 6-7 year old to see this movie.

Well, I did just rent it from Amazon. It was a good movie but it didn't make a huge impression on me. I'll probably forget about it in two days. Gal Gadot did a good job with the role, but I still wish someone else had played Wonder Woman. I don't know who I would want, but someone else. And, just as I expected, her accent bugged me the whole movie. Chris Pine didn't irritate me, not nearly enough of Connie Neilson or Robin Wright. Criminal underuse of Robin Wright, in fact. All I can say is that if this film is the golden standard, "Batman v Superman" and all the other DC films they're mentioning must be pretty horrible. The best thing out of this is that Patty Jenkins' career is on the definite upswing.
