Thanks, Fr. Mike. This was an amazing movie. Best film I've seen this year by far. My favorite line comes when Ares tells Wonder Woman to give the humans what they deserve. She could have given in to temptation like Eve. Instead, she rose up and said, "It's not about 'deserve.' It's about what you believe in. And I believe in love." So inspiring! That's what it's all about -- transforming the world with love.
@MattMichPro7 жыл бұрын
Father Mike. I like the ending of Wonder Woman where Ares talks about how evil men are and how they don't deserve her, but Diana responds with how he is technically right (just like we don't deserve Gods mercy) but she also says that they are much more than that and how only love can truly save the world. That was a very Christian moment and I loved it. I hope DC sticks with the Christian themes throughout their movies.

"I am the way, the truth and the life, NO ONE comes to the Father except through me." - Jesus (John 14:6) Only Jesus is the way the one and only way. Jesus Christ is enough. We don't need a pope, priest, mary, saints, sacristans etc. JESUS CHRIST is GOD. He is the only advocate and mediator. There are no such thing as a true religion. Only true GOD which is JESUS. He loves you and he died for you. Repent and believe. He is coming soon.

g d exactly!! From the trailers someone pointed out that when Wonder Woman is reaching out for her sword and Flash is touching the point of it, it looks like Michelangelo'spainting of God reaching out to Adam!! And I also think they are going to go down the route of Superman rising from the dead at the end and telling the rest of the league to go out and to be heroes of the world (Jesus coming back to tell his Apostles to make disciples of many nations)!!

Totally agree. I loved the trench scene in Wonder Woman, and it inspired me so much. As a woman, I found that she was portrayed beautifully, with the true strength and heart of womanhood. She inspires the men around her to stand up and keep moving, her love and passion inspired them to be strong as well. I think women have great capacity for support and uplifting and she did just that. I love it

Be careful - this day (31st Oct )is hijacked by the dark side to celebrate gohsts, witches, zombies & is important in satanic worship. Perhaps see what your conscience says each year - you may, in due time, be led not to join in such secular activities. For the young it's difficult, but you could party without paying homage to such dark things by not wearing the costumes, face painting etc There is very little in this world that evil hasn't tainted. But as you get older & wiser, things become easier to put down ( meaning to give uo / to stop).

@brigidwenner68477 жыл бұрын
Hi Modest Fitness! I know you're asking for Fr. Mike's input so sorry if I'm, well, intruding... I could come up with a bunch of personal critiques (partly cause I'm a critical person, something I need to work on), but I think overall it had a decent message. I didn't like the insinuation that she slept with her romantic interest, just for hopefully obvious reasons. I also didn't really like that throughout the movie she has this idea that all evil is caused by Ares, and that killing him would end all war; then it seems like that's not true; then it kind of says jk it is true. Logically speaking I don't know how war could continue without Ares, but I guess the movie does show that humans are responsible for their own decisions, so maybe there's no moral dilemma. Thanks for letting me talk! God bless.

For me, it is that Catholicism is the only religion that can answer every question I come up with. I am not taking about your local youth group counselor doing this, but the Doctor’s of the faith and the Catholic Church as a whole. Your average Catholic won’t know very much, but some Catholic at sometime has teased out the answer. That is why I think our faith is beautiful.

Father mike has a great video on this! Basically, it boils down to the fact that Jesus Christ, through Peter, gave the Church(the Catholic Church) the authority to definitively make doctrine, I think the passage is found late in the gospel of Matthew. Please go check out Father Mike’s video he’ll explain it better than I could ever hope to. Have a good day and God bless!

Because I believe it is the original church started by Jesus Christ. Historical record shows the succesion of the popes traces all the way back to St Peter. There's history to back this up. The Catholic Church was the only church before the protestant reformation of the 16th century. But if you want to learn more, look up a book called "The Protestant's Dilemma: How the Reformation's Shocking Consequences Point to the Truth of Catholicism." Also, pray to God for the truth, and ask him to lead you. www.amazon.com/Protestants-Dilemma-Reformations-Consequences-Catholicism/dp/1938983610

I loved the movie Wonder Woman because it did an amazing job looking at the motifs of Paradise Lost in the context of World War I. Even though it used the greek gods as context for the story, everything in the story seemed to be like a metaphor for a Catholic idea. One of the particularly strong metaphors is that Ares seems to represent Satan, hiding in the shadows and persuading men to kill each other.

#AskFrMike Hello f. Mike! Love your videos, your words really often come at the right time needed :) I have one question thou - you've mentioned prophetic gifts from God that only some people are 'blessed' with, so my question is this - how do we recognize a true gift from God in someone? how do we know the gift is really from God and not a false god? ('short story' - close to my town there is a catholic preist that was transfered in a small town church (as catholic preists often do get sent where they are needed) where there was almost no Mass, no believers, and soon had a vision from God that his church will in the short future be visited by lots of people even waiting in lines. he got a gift of healing from God and really, in a few years there are so many people they don't even fit inside. he says that he does nothing and all that people think that he does actually does Jesus through him. his appearance is really humble, as i could see in an interview and i have no problem believing everything that he does comes from God. but, my mother is really sceptic and says that the Bible says that 'there will be many so called prophets' and she isn't quite convinced. this is why my question. thank you in advance for maybe taking the time to answer (or possibly making a video about this subject :D ) may our God bless You and all of your actions in the future

Lynda Carter version of Wonder Woman shares many similarities to Our Lady of Guadalupe in looks and even ethnicity. A cape with stars, golden wristbands, and a golden lasso of "truth" (demons must tell the truth on command of Mary). Lynda Carter is mixed Mexican/Scottish. Our Lady's image was perceived to be both Spaniard and Native Mexican. There is only one Wonder Woman: the "great wonder" in Revelation. So, I believe that Wonder Woman, the character, is a gift from God.

Amelia, the rosary is lots more that meets the eye. When we say the rosary , we will meditate at each Hail Mary a scene from the Four Mysteries: Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful and Glorious. If done correctly and the rosary is prayed everyday, very soon the rosary becomes a portable New Testament reading of the life and divinity of Christ! This is why it was deemed a very powerful “portable bible “ against the heretics because in the times before the Reformation, there was no bible and the populace illiterate! Today, saying the rosary helps reveal the Divinity of our Lord. Because without the purity of his Virgin birth, the visitation and the heralding by Angels of his birth, Jesus’ Divinity is less. ( No other prophet is born of a Virgin). Going through the other mysteries we are constantly reminded of His Divinity! Lastly, the rosary allows us to speak to God for 15-20 minutes! Try this without the rosary. God bless.

Contrary to Sola Scriptura Protestants’ claim, John’s Gospel in Chapter 21 tells us the opposite. Not everything is in the bible! “There are also many other things that Jesus did; if every one of them were written down, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.” John, the beloved disciple in Chapter 21:25 gives the above proof that not everything that Jesus taught are in the Bible! There’s a lot more. And we humans would be infinitely arrogant to demand that God, the Creator of everything, be confined to the pages of a mere Bible, inspirational although it is. Vain humans indeed who insist on sola fide (Scripture only), for did not Paul say “Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world.” (1 Corinthians 1:20)
