God rest RFK's soul. What a beautiful person he was. How tragic we lost him in 68. He would have made a truly great president. He had a lot of sensitivity for those less fortunate.

Bobby Kennedy loved people and especially children; you can see that in his demeanor as he inquisitively interacts with this young audience.

Bobby is as calm and reassuring as Mr. Rogers. A great man.

Sonny Fox, RIP. Sonny was a great host. He never condescended to the audience. RFK seems quite shy until he engages with the children. This is a wonderful clip.

Was on in '67 and had a closeup with him when you try to stump him with a question. My question was what is the length of the Colorado River (my mother looked it up in our World Book Encyclopedia). He came very close to the correct answer, but I did get a prize.

Thanks for posting this. I used to watch Wonderama. Sonny Fox was like the Cary Grant of kids' afternoon TV. This show with Senator Kennedy is adorable. The kids' remarks sound almost scripted, but I know they weren't. Kids were much more interested in the adult world than the little ones of today.

I was in his personal office when he was AG. There were at least 15 kids he didn’t know between 5-15 literally jumping around and using the furniture as a jungle gym and laughing and yelling. RFK seemed to enjoy every minute of it. A long time ago but, obviously, I remember it well.

This is SO COOL!!!! Thanks lots for posting!!!! I had NO FRICKEN IDEA that Bobby Kennedy did the kid's show circuit--and on WONDERAMA even!!!!! :-)

Wow! They don't do stuff like this anymore. Actually, they didn't when I was a kid in the 70s, either. I used to watch Wonderama in that decade, with Bob McAllister, but it had a very different feel from this, although it was still quite unlike anything since then. I guess times change...

Can anyone find the Wonderama episode where he had children representing different countries? It would have been circa 1962-1965? My sister and I were in it representing Finland and were in our Finnish National costumes. We loved watching the show while we lived on Long Island!

Besides? I'm hoping that there are other videos and/or kinny film prints of the many years that "Wonderama" was on the air on WABD/WNEW/WNYW TV Ch.5 in NYC with the many talented, creative and caring people serving as the show's mc's from 1955 to 1983.

Well, yes, there is a specific date that my mom was on Sonny fox's "Wonderama" it was the date that John F. Kennedy was laid to rest ironically (11/25/1963). Thank you so much for your efforts, and many best wishes on bringing nostalgia back :)
