I know. At first I assumed he just did that because it might take a while for the victims to notice it is missing. That type of stuff they most likely do not use every day. But then when I saw he left the empty box out by the fountain in the yard in plain view, I realized that I was wrong and now I don’t get it either. some of the antique pieces he stole were definately quite valuable, but a lot of what he stole would probably just be melted down and thats not worth all that much by itself. The artwork he stole was where Id be the bulk of the tally is from....but some of that silver were old, 17th, 18th century pieces that would be rare and quite valuable just for their history..likely shipped overseas to be fenced. He hit literally hundreds of times and these values are based on when he was caught back in the 2000s decade, a time when this stuff was hot on the art and antiques market.
