If a common person buys a $5000 ring, the jeweler will pay $500 for it when things go south in the relationship. I wonder if these thieves got a similar percentage. Even the cash isn’t worth face value when it’s stolen or illicit. They could have used some of the haul to buy better toupee’s and a captive bolt pistol like the one used in “No Country for Old Men”.

The most intriguing one was the climber. I mean here was a guy with a spectacular talent & what could he do with it? Only join another crime organization - like the CIA, in which case he'd be involved in murder and other worst cases than jewel theft. It is amazing what these thieves were able to accomplish. And be caught by such small details. "Dont move for half an hour.". Using a credit card long after the fact, etc.
