Gotta agree with you about Manhunter....Imagine my surprise finding this gem with my favorite actor from the original CSI show. I especially love the window jump scene, an effect/stunt that was also used in The Fly with Jeff Goldblum. This version was and is highly underrated considering its superior vibe.

Here's a side story about Manhunter, it was a made-for-TV movie which means it's PG it is not very bloody but a nice old-school thriller, it was also made in the style of Miami Vice which was the top show at the time I would highly recommend watching this, then Silence of the lambs for a great double feature

Manhunter remains a classic. It screams Mann from every pore, and remains a yearly rewatch for me. Cox is great as Lektor (with a “k”), but Tom Noonan rarely gets the credit he deserves for this (and his role as Kelso in “Heat”). If you haven’t watched this, do.

Manhunter is one of favorite movies of all time. I'm a big fan of Thomas Harris books (the Hannibal Lector series) and this movie captures the atmosphere and bleak horror of the books so, so much better than Red Dragon. I'll even go so far as saying I like it better than Silence. Heresy, I know, but man is this a great movie.

I loved Beyond the Black Rainbow, had no idea what was going on first time round, but loved it. Honestly the ending was a big time shift that I want a huge fan of, but it didn't ruin the enjoyment for me. Cosmatos described it as the movie he imagined when he looked at cases in the video rental shop of movies he was too young to watch and it really nails that feeling.
