🇺🇸 but 1/2 🇪🇸 &🇩🇴 I think you should explain that lunch in Spain is their main meal like Dinner here. Usually breakfast and dinner are light meals and don’t forget La Merienda which is a late afternoon snack between their heavy lunch and light dinner. Hope that helps😊

@@rolflin Where do you live? Here in Spain is like this: 9:00-10:00 - Desayuno 12:00-13:00 - Aperitivo (not usual at all) 14:00-15:00 - Almuerzo (Comida) 18:00-19:00 - Merienda 21:00-22:00 - Cena That's all. But I use to eat each meal later than that.

I love Spaniards straight forward attitude, no misunderstanding whatsoever. Some other cultures take it as them being rude, which is not the case once you learn their culture. When I visit Spain 🇪🇸 I still have a hard time with the late dinner, it’s also hard what to do on Sunday’s due to stores are closed. Just clarification regarding coche, the spelling for pork in Mexico is cochi, us Mexicans do also called vehicles -carro- I love Spain 🇪🇸 ❤ Thank you for sharing

@vegavela4128
@vegavela4128 3 күн бұрын

Regarding store hours the footing applies in mort cities: I am an American living in Madrid. Want to clarify some information for those that watch your videos and you; The reason why you should always go food shopping any day of the week, but not on a Monday, is because all of the fresh fruits, vegetables, meats and fish are not delivered until Tuesday morning for the markets… Small stores like fruits and vegetables, are normally always open Monday through Sunday morning. Shopping centers are opened Mondays to Sunday from 10:00’to 22:00. Some may close at 21:00. Only Mercadona doesn’t open on Sunday and never has. Regarding store hours for the important stores; Aldi, Euroski, Lidl, Dia, Alcampo and Carrefour and probably where you live in Alicante, you have Consum and Costco, they have opened a Costco in Alicante and soon Valencia.These open from 10:00 to 22:00, days a week. For the ZARA, Mango, and so on the all open from a Monday to Sunday the normal hours. Pharmacy’s/Farmacia The every barrio or area, there is Pharmacy open on a 24 hour clock. Each Pharmacy has a some poster on their window with pharmacy on duty and addresses and times.In Madrid you every pharmacy’s open 24 hour a day, 12 hours a day that open 7 days a week. I am sure the in Alicante they exist. Buses Yes, people have designated areas and seats on the bus. In the front of the bus is for elderly, pregnant woman, and those with special needs. There are stickers on the walls of the buses, and yes if you sit in those seats you are required to get out of them if required. There are also seats for wheelchairs and carriages. Note the those get in the bus from the second side door. Life In Spain we have customs. Those who work have a half an hour break for morning cafe. From 9:00 to 12:00 more or less. However, mothers when they take their children to school or just because they are a group friends that do not work, have a cafe from 10:00 to 11:30. Also this happen for merienda That can go from 5:00 - 7:30, play cards or just talking. The life here has lots a dinners with friend, family and so on. They prefer to organize these get to together’ So that everyone to enjoy and one needs to cook or clean up.. The why of life.. Hope this helps others. Emily

VALE. There are degrees in straightforwardness. I'm sure you have tried Spanish chickpea stew (cocido). The custom is you start with the soup, then vegetables and lastly, the meat. Not in Aragón. They don't beat around the bush. They start with the meat because they are the bluntest and most direct people in the world

I absolutely love watching these videos! I do hope you continue to share the differences. I'd also love to see a video of the "shocking" similarities that maybe you didn't expect. I think that would be fun too. As for the language, it's always going to be that way, isn't it?!? I recall taking Spanish classes in high school and then trying to speak to my grandmother. She used to giggle at some of the more formal parts of the language I was being taught versus how she spoke Spanish in Southern California. I think that you have the right attitude though. An open mind and willingness to learn is always the considerate approach. ❤️😜😁 Heading to Scotland & England at the end of the year. I'm already looking forward to the language barrier as we attempt to translate English to English. 🤫🤣🤣🤣

Our day can be really long so we and the kids eat mostly 5 times a day. Lunch being the most important. We live wirh the sun like everyone but our clocks are two hours late This could be any workday in my life At 8;00 in winter is even too dark Little kids start school at 9:00 Teenagers 8:30 I Work 8 to 14 Parents go to work between 7 and 9 it depends on the kind of work and the city that you live in and also schedule adjustments that you can negotiate with your boss. Getting later to work and get out later too. I did that two years 10:30/11:30 almuerzo just a cofee and something to eat. Cafe y pincho de tortilla 14 to 15 eat in bilbao thats pretty common 1hour to 1:30 In industrial zones they eat earlier 12:30 to 13:30 15 to:17:15 work Sone people gets a reduction and work 6 or 7 hours 8/15 and get the kids out from scholl at 16/16:30. Less money to earn too. Then the kids have la merienda. Some fruit and a bocadillo maybe a yogurt In the evening kids go to extracurricular clases (swim, football, judo , dance,chess english...anything they choose) or they go play to a park, and parents get a beer or wine😂 and we talk with amigos. If the day is dark and rainy(pretty nornal in northern winter) we stay at home play some music and the kid does his school duties or deberes. In my case with a 9yo we have dinner at 8/9 and he goes to bed 9/9:15 After that when he is at bed we read or see some tv serials. I nornally go to bed at midnight So i am used to sleep 7 hours but i can live with 6 without any issues.😂 We are built and educated for this

The issue of the timetable in Spain has two explanations. One is that we have the wrong time. We are using the parallel time of Germany instead of that of England, which would be the wrong one. In addition, in the 60s this timetable allowed people to work multiple jobs, working 8 hours in the morning and 8 in the afternoon, if necessary.

For some unknown reason, English is a language that tends towards word creation, so it has become one of the wordiest languages in the world, with regional words that are only used in certain dialects or regions of the world, while Spanish veers towards word reciclying, so the same word will have a lot of different meanings and people from different Spanish-speaking countries will use the same words, but with wholly different meanings. Take the example of the verb "coger" in Spain versus Mexico.

Come on... Nobody closes at 12. Shops could be closed from 13:30 to 16:30, but you can always find supermarkets open. It IS so strange that a bible centered country like the USA IS ok with shops open on Sunday. Particularly, there Is always an emergency pharmacy in every town or Big área. In fact, all towns or villages have a pharmacy as a public service. I think this is not the case for USA where they are some kind of business. That said, welcome to Spain.

Ale I think people are giving you a hard time when you say the Spanish is different because the Spanish itself is not what is different, you just have a different dialect! Anyways I love your 🇪🇸 videos!
