This is Brendan Weinstein, a 29 yr old wingsuit pilot, the mountain Brendan is flying down is Le Pleureur, located in Switzerland, and the dam is called Mauvoisin Dam.
Brendan said , he has been making this jump for 2 years with one goal, to build up enough speed, to buzz the lake and fly over the wall of the dam at the end, and it took him 28 flights to figure it all out.
Brendan runs the company BaseBeta which is dedicated to serving base jumpers, and has done roughly 1200 wingsuit flights, 700 base jumps, and 800 skydives and spent 2 years preparing for this flight with fellow jumpers.
I did a story in 2018 on Brendan Weinstein and since doing that story, Brendan came to me and asked if I would tell you about this flight.
Thanks for watching

Fatality rates: 1, skydiving 1 death per 100,000 jumps, 2, BASE jumping 1death per 500-1000 jumps, 3, wing suit flying approx 1 death per 500 jumps. So the death rate is about 0.02%, or 200x more dangerous than standard skydiving which is significant when you consider that to get training for wing suit flying the schools want you to have had 200 standard jumps first, meaning only skilled jumpers get to progress onto wings. It’s just that whenever I see great flying videos like these or with POV drone flights through beautiful/interesting scenery I experience this intense yearning for it to be a long, uninterrupted forward looking flying - like it would from your own perspective if you actually could fly superman style. I guess I’m the only one with this “fetish” cause these videos are almost impossible to find on YT. The creators always edit them with cuts :-/

@@skemsen they are hard to find, because no matter how amazing footage look, 4k cinematic, flying over valleys or cities, people would prefer to watch crummy 480p footage with a story. It's just a simple fact. People would much rather watch a slide show of still frame pictures with a text or narrated story, than the most beautiful 4k cinematic footage. I have come across so many channel that have filmed the most amazing footage I have ever seen, like like 1k views. and i have come across the crummiest videos ever made with millions of views, simply because they had a story to tell. it just pays more to tell a story than to look pretty.
