Its difficult to be greatful when all you want is to not exist, i did not ask to be born or for existence before this human birth but i have to play along and pretend i am greatful.

Categorically banning euthanesia/assisted suicide and the death penalty is wrong, just as it is wrong to categorically ban abortion. That being said, if your existence is something you find wanting, for example because you were born deformed, you can still make an attempt to rework it on the basis of the experiences and values in your life which are worth appreciating, such as experiences of joy, beauty and comfort. That's not a guaranteed, closing solution but it is a way to iterate on your comfort levels (the main factor to deciding whether life as it is is still worth living) and experience more personal agency. Asian Buddhists don't often understand this because the rate of deformity is just categorically higher in the Western world, and the most deformed don't often make it far in Buddhist hierarchy, but if you want to help them understand this is the information they need for that purpose.
