Ok it’s been a few weeks now and I can say the ball top has been quite pleasant to use! It didn’t cause dead skin to build up in the engraved area and the wooden texture is smooth so it feels like wood but not raw wood if you get me. That said, I’m marginally OCD and so I kept fidgeting while playing to keep the “Brook” engraving perfectly horizontal so I’m back to my plastic ball top. Might switch back and forth occasionally :)

Dude i dont own a stick, i probably won't ever build one, i don't even think my choice would be a wooden ball even if i were to build one, and yet i'm here watching this video because your content is just really relaxing.

I think you need to do a DIY wooden arcade stick for this ball.

I got this ball top about 4 to 5 weeks ago. I can say it's my favorite one yet. It has just the right amount of Friction and it does feel a bit lighter. (that part may just be in my mind). Only mod to the ball top iv been thinking about is filling the brook logo with a gold texture paint so it shows a bit more. After im done ill post it to the discord. (Editing for spelling)

I'm actually planning on turning a wood ball top for a school project pretty soon! Never tried turning wood before so wish me luck lol

One point that you kind of implied but never stated outright: The wooden ball top (and bat top, they have one of those as well), since it's a piece of wood, is truly one-of-a-kind. There will never be two that look exactly the same. Meanwhile, plastic ball tops and bat tops are completely identical, barring actual flaws in the item itself. For some people, such as myself, this can be a major appeal. I had the fortune to get some bat tops that cracked, and the cracks formed made them completely unique, which I loved.

The real question is how much noise does the wood cover generate when you pick it up and down? I have a habit of fiddling with mine and spinning it around and it's pretty quiet when it clacks the stick.

I grabbed that as well as a wooden bat top (bat top isn't from brooks though, it's from crown). They look pretty slick

I've wanted one for a couple of years now but the price plus shipping puts me off. Also, I play battop (Brooks have done these in wood now too but hadn't for the longest time.)

I have the same Uniqlo Guile "Go home and be a family man" T-shirt and it's awesome! I wish they did more SF T-shirts! Brook makes great super adapters, but this rosewood ball top doesn't seem to "spark" joy.

Looks neat. Wonder how long before we get wooden button plungers? Different wood for different colours, such as birch for light attacks... Maybe it’s a bad idea, but I’d give that a try.

Sounds like you need to design your stick artwork around the wood ball in order for it to make sense aesthetically. I plan to take a mayflash F500 and make it look like a NEO GEO goldie arcade cabinet. This stick should go along way to emulating the look of the wood panel sides.

Have you checked out the Phreakmods Link EX Groove? It’s been out a while. It’s basically an updated version of the Link you have. But it has the dust cover attached and doesn’t have the gap between the release and the ball.

Hey just wondering, where'd you get your shafts from for your Victrix Pro? And are we able to replace our shafts for our victrix with any shafts or do they need to be specific? I'm trying to find on that still allows me to use the quick removal feature of the Victrix.
@NihongoGamer3 жыл бұрын
I bought the “phreakmodz link” which is designed to fit the sanwa JLF which is the lever installed as standard on the Pro FS. You can fit other shafts as long as they are designed to fit the Sanwa JLF. There are other shafts for other brands like Seimistsu to choose the right one that fits.
