Wood Chips vs. Hay - Bedding in the goat barn - And More Baby Goats!!!

It’s another exciting day on tHIS FARM. Today we’ll take you along on a few of our cores. We’ve used hay and wood chips as bedding in our goat barn and the chip are far superior. AND more baby goats goats playing, jumping, running, bouncing and doing baby goat things.

I loved the smell of wood chips with our Basset Hounds when I was young. We had to be careful with the puppies though, they could choke on them, but they weren’t jumping around a minute after they were born.😄

The babies are so cute & they will learn fast with the electric fence. Wood chips are way better in the goats pens & chicken coops especially in the summer time. Nice looking goat herd too.

I love the wood chips over the hay/straw, the aroma is way better thats for sure, especially when you have stinky bucks(I had 2). makes it a lot easier clean as well, even my dogs love the shavings as they can dig a nice circle hole and curl up in. Those babies are so adorable, that last one is a cutie pie.

how many days once we can change the chips?

It depends on how much it rains and how many goats you have. We normally just add woodchips for several weeks of months sometimes. When it get too deep we clean it out and use it as compost for the garden.
