This video showcases the future of sustainable building-it's amazing to see how far wood construction technologies have come 👍👍👍

How many trees did they cut down and how much was recycled wood? That makes a huge difference in our world today as far as co 2 consumption.

Where is all this timber coming from, can they re-generate forests fast enough?
@Thesaurcery4U2C
@Thesaurcery4U2C 10 ай бұрын
Exactly what I was thinking. How was that sparked off of climate concerns. Trees feed on carbon, and how much fuel is used in that whole process i.e. trucks, chainsaws, sawmills, hauled to another place to cut to size and drill holes. Brick = Earth + Water + Heat = done They are probably getting nice govt money to just try this stuff. Almost none of these new technologies get implementation because it had already been whittled down to its most efficient process.

At 12:38 last build we used these truss screws, amazing time saver. Will never use the old method again.

Hemp is the best source of renewable fibres for the sawdust insulation. Go hemp!

Well no. Any wood that has had its sugars REMOVED and then turned into a wood product would be superior. Rock wool is VASTLY superior to any hemp based product. Easier to work with and cheaper with the fact it DOES NOT ROT and is insect repelling. You would have to be an EPIC idiot to use hemp

Commpressed earth blocks are the insulation and since you just use dirt the carbon footprint is nil. Wood construckrion is allaround wasteful.

You, who have never even hammered a nail in your life I'll bet. Good luck with your "compressed earth blocks"--> I guarantee you have never used them. Yet another moron yammering on about CO2--> AKA Plant/invertebrate food. @@publicdomain3378

Did they put sprinklers in every inch of that Hi-rise in Norway?? Talk about Towering Inferno. The idea for the insulation seems good. Floor systems are cool.

Triqbriq looks as though it came from Toys 'R' Us! They should have allowed for some breathing spaces, like in a 3d lattice. Maybe manufactured at given/ relevant lengths? The spaces could be filled with natural fibre and the structure would be more secure with a plywood facia!

How much co2 on the first one to cut and process those blocks. Look at me I didn’t use any screws and saved the environment, but wanted dozens of tress and labor was triple the cost🤙🏿

Promoting wood as a building material like you needs an explanation where all that wood comes from. Forests are being cut down for fueling "green" bio energy plants.

I would immediately get that thing off my jobsite as soon as I seen anyone taking all that extra time every single screw because they aren't able to hold a drill straight. Also? The only screws that I have ever seen in a truss system is for snow load brackets on a flat commercial roof. Everything else is Simpson hardware and truss nails. Maybe it's a European process.

I really like wooden construction, but if you think rationally, this whole video is pure greenwashing. Apart from the mythical carbon footprint, there is not a single advantage for the consumer of wooden houses. If I were building a house, I would choose an AAC block and all the finishing would be wood.
