Hi Nathan! This was a very nice video presentation of wood engraving! I will look forward to seeing your future videos explicating the art. Carl Montford was my teacher as well. I'm a way to the South of you located in Olympia.

Hi, Nathan. You may not remember me but we talked a few years back about wood engraving. You must have made this video sometime after our talk. This is an excellent video on the wood engraving process. I had done only one wood engraving back when we talked and I still haven't done another one. One reason for that is that they stopped making Resongrave. I also watched your video on how to prepare a line drawing for print. I might have some ideas on how to do that if you ever want to compare notes. For instance, I think there's a way to get better vector results from Illustrator.

Hey Michael! Yes, I recently saw the news about Resingrave as well. It's such a shame. If you have access to maple or holly, I have made several blocks for myself using those woods and they've worked great. That said, if you plan on printing them in a press, leveling them and getting them to type high is the real challenge-I've only hand printed so far. And I would be curious to hear your process on preparing line art for print. I have been using an vectorizing app called Dragpotrace lately.

The point is that we are listening because we don't know.
