Thanks so much for this! We are thinking about putting wood fired hot tubs in at our glamping site but I think this has put me off!

Despite everything, it was fun. Good for glamping not so good for home reckon.

We used one on holiday in Worcester in September, we enjoyed it so much I have ordered an 8 seater woodfired for at home. Shut the vents down at 35c (ish) and it shouldn't go above 40c. Much more economical than an electric one, and the one I have on order has an acrylic liner which fares better than grp, the grp is made up of layers and can get air bubbles between the layers that swell under heat and it looks like it is blistering, the acrylic is one piece. I would say it would be ideal for glamping, the one I am getting has a sand box filter, aqua jets and air jets and led lighting and a UV steriliser.

How long does it take to fully heat up?

Were you able to find a way to control the temperature?

Add cold water if too hot.

Be interesting to see how much cold water it would have taken to cool…. But I honestly thought it’d cool with the lid off! 🤦🏼♂️

At least when the electricity goes off you can still manage to heat the water; split wood would be better, round pieces retain a lot of moisture, the smoke shown is testament to that, dry wood can be burned much more cleanly; heating thenhouse and hot water, underfloor heating etc with biomass - if it's too hot, one can regulate the temperature too by adding a little cold water, if you're intelligent enough to think about that possibility..
