I just subscribed to your channel a few days ago. Been home sick so have watched a lot of your vids. You’re someone I could hang out with. I do a little hot tent camping. Most my camping is during hunting season. I have a camp 5 deluxe stove from The wall tent shop and a 13’ white duck bell tent. The stove is like 5x’s too big for my tent.😂 I’ve never had to cover up and I sleep in shorts on top of my cot. I do have one of those 3” memory foam cushions for it you showed on here. Things a game changer. I’m rambling. Merry Christmas to you and your family and I hope you hit 25,000. Love the content. Keep it up.

Hey Chris, great video and Merry Christmas to you and yours! I'm already subscribed to your channel, but I gave a thumbs up and here's a comment for the algorithm. Love the pellet hopper. Hmmm without the pellet attachment this one isn’t a bad stove at all. 3 big windows, lots of pipes, carry bag, on sale it’s like $250 I think. Not a bad option at all. I do really like my Dweller 3 but that’s on a higher budget. Thanks for watching
@hike-bike-paddle-and-droneКүн бұрын
Definitely a cool option except for the CON you mentioned. Is there a way to stop the flow of pellets? Say I woke up in the morning and wanted to switch it over to regular wood burning to cook with and there is still half a hopper of pellets?? Thanks for the review! Now if I could adapt it to my Winnerwell Stoves I already have ??? Jeff
@AdventureswithSpackmannКүн бұрын
Yes I forgot to show the cut off. It has a port that you can open(a small slit) and insert a stopper. You will need to burn through the remaining pellets that are below that but it’s quicker than half a hopper lol. I have heard that the winnerwells aren’t the same size(allegedly) but you can contact them for the correct sized plate. I’m sure the listing mentions the diameter of it but I could be wrong. Thanks for watching

I need one. Been using a Big Buddy heater on low at night to stay above freezing. I get maybe 3 to 4 hours of above freezing if I pack my wood stove full right before bed. Then I’ll click on the buddy heater when I wake up to give my beer back to nature. That way I’m not freezing when I get up to sit on my bucket.

Yes it has a slide in shut off right above the air intakes. You slide it in and it stops the pellets. Then around 15-20 mins later the fire should be out-ish. Thanks for watching

Spackman,enjoyed both reviews of Green stove! Interested to know which do you like better, the Green Engine setup/ Butterfly or the Hori 5…can’t decide which pellet option would be more useful.

Hori5 is a way better pellet stove in my opinion but butterfly is a way better wood stove. However, butterfly pellet burner may actually throw more heat with pellets than the hori5 cause it burns so much faster. Thanks for watching

Run time - Diesel heater wins Cost - Diesel heater wins Ease of use - Diesel heater wins (IMHO) Portability - Diesel heater wins Adjustable heat - Diesel heater wins Tent real estate - Diesel heater wins Ambiance - Pellet stove wins Cooking - Pellet stove wins Efficiency - would love to see you do a "Wood/Pellet Stove vs Diesel heater" Video. Good luck with the 25K Christmas Miracle!

Hey Chris first of all Merry Christmas! All right and now to the observation that I have. Now since I'm not there with that stove I can only assume but, here's what I'm worried about as tall as that hopper is and is small as that stove is I believe if you fill it up with pellets that thing is going to be top heavy and all you need is a little bump and that thing will come crashing down. But like I said I'm not there with that stove so it's just an observation you let us know what you think. And the second observation is you either need a new mic or when you are editing you need to crank up the volume. I had to crank the volume all the way in my TV just to hear you in a "normal"volume. So I don't know if anyone else has that issue or if it's just me but I thought I would let you know. Otherwise keep those burn counts coming😂
@AdventureswithSpackmannКүн бұрын
I thought my mic is going fine. I’ll check the audio as well to make sure. As far as top heavy. Yes it is top heavy for sure. 40 pounds sitting right on top of your stove. The burn attaches to the stove top with two locks. Then the hopper sits into the burn a good 2-3 inches. It believe it’s possible to knock it over but it would be kinda difficult. Not sure why didn’t add a locking screw to the hopper to the burner but they didn’t. Merry Christmas and thanks for watching
@davidtato257622 сағат бұрын
@AdventureswithSpackmann Would you say that the Hori5 from greenstove is better since it has that locking mechanism and the overall mechanics are slightly better (larger cooking space). Love to hear what you think.
@AdventureswithSpackmann22 сағат бұрын
@ I think the hori5 is a better pellet stove but this is a better wood stove. Thanks for watching
@davidtato257622 сағат бұрын
I want the versatility of a wood stove that could become a pellet stove but for $500 (which is pretty expensive to me) i feel like the hori5 pellet stove is better. What would you recommend for someone who wants to use a hot stove all night for a large tent without having to get up to stoke the fire. I love the hori5 but this one gives both functionalities so im torn. Thanks for replying! I appreciate it
@campmansoutdoors692722 сағат бұрын
@@davidtato2576The way I solve that problem is I will bring two modes of heating with me. I'll use a wood stove during the daytime and then I night I will replace it with either a diesel heater or a kerosene heater. They Will both keep your large tent toasty warm and you don't have to worry about getting up every 2 hours to add wood to your stove. Yeah I get it that's extra equipment you have to bring with you and fuel but it is worth it since you don't have to be getting up at night to keep your tent warm. But that is my choice I'm just giving you the information on what I do.

The problem with this one is even if you open it fully at night when your asleep, do you really want to chance smoke going into the hopper when your out in never neverland? Even if you have a detector if it smokes its really toxic or thick. Would you have time to react before it overtakes you?
@AdventureswithSpackmann7 сағат бұрын
Well unfortunately that could be a problem with any hopper. I suppose they all have a chance to fill with smoke. I mean anything can happen. I do know in my testing of a smoke detector, it takes about 30secs of a smoke filled tent to set the alarm off. Hopefully that’s enough time. I haven’t had it smoke while wide open. Not saying it isn’t possible just I haven’t had it happen. Thanks for watching

Hello friend. It's a great product. I wrote to you before. I have a stove that burns both wood and pellets. Wood burns very efficiently. However, after burning for a while, the pellets smoke very badly. It is on my stove channel. You can check it out. Does using this product in that stove make a difference? Can I get rid of the smoking problem? What do you think is the problematic part of my pellet chamber?
@AdventureswithSpackmannКүн бұрын
I believe that would either be from not enough draft created or too air coming from somewhere besides the primary air intake. More draft can be achieved by adding more vertical stove pipe. Fixing the other problem could be as easy as finding where the air is getting sucked in and shutting that down. Next time it fills with smoke, close all the air intakes and take the top off the hopper( unless the top has air holes) this could also be something blocking the burn chamber and not allowing pellets to burn fast and hot enough. Ashes perhaps. Come back and let me know if any one of those ideas work please. I’m not expect but I have had some problems that I’ve solved. Thanks for watching
@amypayjack648123 минут бұрын
Id have to say the biggest con is the cost. Ive been searching how to make a pellet stove from a tent stove and was excited when i found this but after seeing how much more it costs in canada its a little ridiculous. $800 for the stove and $500 for the pellet attachment...plus tax. But burning pellets to get through a night is ideal if you cant have other forms of heat
