Hi Melvin, the secret is having a lathe that slowly ramps up the speed and support at the outside circumference of the flower/goblet. I changed from the ball to a wide cone half way through because a standing wave formed in the stem. It stayed true after that. Keep well, Rob

Awesome! Although its a really cool flower, i gave the 👍 for your patience in turning such a long thin spindle! I have done a few as thin, but shorter. Mine, im sure, wouldve exploded if i tried one that long! Good job!

If you try, I recommend avoiding any scrapers. When you go real thin it has to be a slicing cut or the project ends up on the floor...that’s experience talking:) Keep well, Rob

Thank you, I think it is the slow speed ramp on the lathe. I think the head would twist off on my old HF lathe, 0 - 600 rpm in 0.1 s. Keep well mate.

Welcome to my channel. Yes, the flowers stand on their own, only one of the pictures at the end of the video had the flower on its side. I should have filmed the wobble when you move it around...might stick it on Instagram.
