I have just started turning segmented bowls and found your video which is different from what I was doing. So naturally I wanted to try your method so I build a sled like yours. It took me a bit of experimenting to get it to work. My first bowl ended up being 10 7/8 inch across and 3/12 inch deep and beautiful. Thanks for a great videos. Don't pay any attention to those viewers that make negative comments about your message at the end. Someday everyone will acknowledge our savior. You have done your part by planting the seed.

I am going to return to wood turning after about 45 years and this video is informative in each step I want it to be my first larger project, after I practice a little with pens. I previously had a cabinet shop and have a ton of fall off pieces of hardwood I can use in segmented turnings. I intend to go back to your other videos for further inspirations. Don't let the negative comments deter you from teaching as you do, let all that view your work remember this is a free country and free speech is part of our foundation. Reflect on the recent massacre in France and let them hang their head in shame. I am not ashamed to sign my name to this posting. Paul Velotta

I found your post at the right time of my life..I just got into bowl making with a scroll saw. I just bought a wood lathe and want to start turning segmented bowls. I am 84 years old. I just cut the tip of my left forefinger off on my table saw. infection has set in, and am now waiting for it to clear up with antibiotics so I can make this bowl. Thank you for sharing and a very clear explanation. Your Gospel message is what I needed. John Olynyk

Your bowl is absolutely beautiful. I also love the short gospel message you gave at the end. I know many people will watch the video and enjoy it but get offended at the end. Their eyes are blind to the truth because they simply do not want anything to do with God. They would rather live their life however it pleases them. They have no idea how bad a choice that really is. God bless!

Life takes many turns, and I believe each of us , walking down this path we call life, will come into contact with several centurions along the path who will provide us with bits of knowledge that we can either except or reject....choice being the ultimate gift given to us at birth. You are one of those centurions my friend.

Hello Wallace; Thank you for your video. I am a sixty year old and my life long partner and me reside in Bracebridge, Ontario. I'm a relatively knew bowl turner, but a passionate one. Segment turning is new to me. A conscious Spiritual journey is the most important thing one be passionate about. This is what brings joy into the world. A conscious Spiritual life always helps restore us to sanity. We are all sinners. Our asking for help from The Source is what strengthens us and keeps us moving away from blindness, and into The Light. A troubled world yes. However; as we learn to wear the world as a loose cloak, we become freer from the tyranny within it. We can then enjoy periods of basking in The Light, and profess to others that which saves us within the troubled world. All the best. A friend along The Way, Greg

if you make up a mix of paint thinner, linseed oil AND urethane, equal parts, it works great. I have been using this mix for years finishing the wood tools I sell. Supposedly it's the same thing that is in "Danish oil finish", like watco. Read this recipe in a finishing trade magazine. I like it because the urethane goes in with the linseed oil and becomes part of the wood instead of it sitting on top after the linseed oil is applied. It hardens in one day. Multiple coats build up a real nice hand rubbed finish. I always test a mix on a piece of glass. If it hardens on the glass, it will harden in the wood.
