😮❤ I love this piece. It is beautiful the color of the wood. I don’t know where you guys are or where you are, but where I live, we don’t have trees that look like that when you cut them down that color you know I wish we did. It’s just beautiful.😊😊

All these armchair experts! How did we manage without you!

@chrisberry9017 maybe the person writing that was also a wood turner. I agree with him, especially when the block is being roughed down into shape. You need to keep the blade down, holding it against the judder, or it will get yanked out of your hand and god only knows where it will end up. Putting that much pressure on the thumb is a shortcut to arthritis in that joint. Sure, use that grip for fine work, but not when it's trying to jump out of your hand.

I was once told by someone who was not a woodturner that I should put my wedding ring on a necklace when I turn, because the little pot I put it in got buried under shavings. He also wondered why I put my 3 foot long hair up in a bun. Some people have no common sense.

I agree, as a wood turner myself, I can appreciate someone who isn’t as experienced learning the craft, but it does sometimes hurt to see such a beautiful piece of wood not reaching its full potential. At least get the sides of this piece even ya know? Still a nice vase that anyone would love to have in their home.

It’s not uneven…it’s abstract. Artists pissing on other people’s art…I’ll never get it. I think it looks great, friend.
@toxicityisforalesson21 күн бұрын
@@brianwhite6600 nobody is pissing on his work. REAL artists make each other better. Because we care enough to tell the truth. STOP being sensitive and gain some sense. Defective work is not going to fly as abstract. Grow up and learn what ART IS.
@toxicityisforalesson21 күн бұрын
@@terataylor158 you lack understanding of what caring about someone or something looks like. You lack emotional intelligence. You lack artistic evaluation skills. You lack technical technique. You are an enemy because you would allow someone to show up in lack luster form and not in their strong suit because you believe in being nice rather than telling the truth. You are a silent liar who believes in being nice and quiet instead of being honest and loving by giving constructive criticism. Go sit down somewhere with your nice self!

I'm not into these types. The skill is in the hollowing and these don't bother. They just drill a hole. What's the point? It's basically a vase shaped candle stick.

Next time, try a consteuctive statement, instead of going straight to insults. And by the way, your insult would carry more weight if you could spell. It's probably best if you carefully consider the terms you are throwing around.
