I fitted an in line fuel filter on my exhaust and there was no visible oil mist coming through or any build up on the underside of the table that holds my lathe. It also acted as a muffler and cut down a great deal of the noise. Very informative video.

Thanks, this would be a nice Spring/Summer project to build.

Don not know what size lathe you have but the line thru the headstock is very tight meaning no leaks I do get leakage from the Robust model but still only a little.

@@trurex007lee7 the tubing I use is 3/8" outside diameter, your lathe is also 3/8" inside diameter thru the head stock. I'd pu a piece of 3/8" tubing and see if it it will fit. Should. Have a great day

My hope was that you would show how you hook your vacuum pump up to your robust adaptor... I have since figured it out for myself, but my curiosity is that you have a pneumatic connector on yours and I am wondering what you use between the pump and your lathe?? I have a barbed connector to work with my tubing and it seems to work. thanks for the video

Sorry about that the truth is I am a snow bird, my Robust American Beauty is in Orchard Park, NY. So I don’t have it to film. But I noticed my quick connect was loosing vacuum. The slip on system is tighter.

Also at the end of the video I talk about pump repairs and oil problems

Does your vacuum pump get hot after a while?
@bowlreveal Жыл бұрын
Oh yeah, the whole purpose of the vacuum is to hold your piece to the lathe, which stops the air flow which would allow the pump to air cool. Once you have it on you have to finish your project because realigning is more difficult, not impossible. Have a great day.

What is the CFM rating of your pump?
@bowlreveal Жыл бұрын
Bought the pump from the same guy I bought the chuck kit from on line. It’s a rebuild the manufacturers plate is missing. No CFM rating ser # Nothing just an on off switch. Sorry about that works great though.
