How cool is it that a mower had hydraulic ports? Awesome build!

I had a customer with the same setup. It made pushing snow a lot of fun.

Very good video. Did the same exact thing to my 1811 and put rear ports on it to.

NIce work. I'm planning on doing something similar to a Deere 314. It has a single spool hydro lift and I want to add a 2nd or 3rd port, kinda like a 318 lite. Greetings from NJ. It snows quite a bit here too.

Frank, I love it. I got got 2 1450's about a month ago in late July early August. I have 2 manual plows also. I'll be converting the 1450's and plows now thanks to you. Thank you so much for the vid. Have you thought about making a conversion kit for people to buy?

Great work there sir. I'd love to set my 149 up like that for DIRT use. I have a beat up smaller blade for it now but like that bigger blade for it.

Works great on gravel roads, too!

I have a deere 445 with 4 way blade and its very cool and easy to plow. I am buying a 1650 like yours and has a snow blade and wondering if I can do this. Regarding the blade lift distance: if you put taller tires, wont it lift higher, I bet the drop can be adjusted
@woodandmetalshoptime80482 жыл бұрын
The lift amount is adjustable to some extent and some folks just make a lift rod to suit their needs. Easy enough to bend a piece of round stock. I have an adjustable rod, so that's another option. Taller tires will change the mower deck situation.

Great video! I just picked up a 1450 to add to my collection. Mine came factory with the dual hydraulic setup. I plan on doing this to my blade as well. What is the length of hydraulic cylinder that you used? Part number would be great also. Thank you.
I prefer case 222 or a 220 or 155 case for. Farm work made but the same company later on

I don’t have the lever on the side of my 782 just the lever on the dash that raised and lowers the mower deck. Can this be added and will a dual port pump still work on the 782? Thanks!
@woodandmetalshoptime8048 Жыл бұрын
Yes. The 82 series had those levers in the dash and the "dual stick" tractors had two levers side by side. Would a power steering pump with restrictor removed save wear an tear on your hydraulic system ???
@woodandmetalshoptime80483 жыл бұрын
No wear and tear. Designed to do just this type of function.

If you don’t connect the lift rod is it possible to physically lift the blade higher than it will go with the lift rod? If it will then would it be possible to modify the connecting points for the lift to raise the blade more?
@woodandmetalshoptime80483 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can shorten the lift rod and lift it higher. But then, it may not lower enough for some situations. The few inches of lift is normally enough for general use.

Was this a factory option? or are all of these with twin stick retrofitted
@woodandmetalshoptime8048 Жыл бұрын
It was a factory option.

Looking for rear tires that resemble the factory original for mine, what kind do you have on that
@woodandmetalshoptime80482 жыл бұрын
MIllertire.com has most every type of tire for these tractors. Not sure exactly what is on that tractor but they are turf tires.

How long is that lift rod center to center ? And diameter.. thank you
@woodandmetalshoptime80482 жыл бұрын
I don't know right off. Most people measure and make one to fit. It's 1/2 inch dia. Easy enough to make one if you have a torch to make the bends. Here's the manual, it that helps. s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/cubcadets/108-4390+WFB+42+Install+Man.pdf

Frank, I have a cub cadet rear on a tractor that I built. Is it possible to use the ports on the tractor for hydraulics, even though it wasn't set up that way?
@woodandmetalshoptime80483 жыл бұрын
If it's a ported hydrostat, yes you can. The "ports" are the auxiliary hydraulic outlets fitted to some of the later Cub Cadet Hydrostatic Models. Most of the early hydros were not ported. They did not come out until 1972 or 1973, with the 1x9 series (109, 129, 149). Even then, it was an option on the 109 and 129 and standard on the 149 and the later 1450, 1650 and some of the 82 series tractors. Of course, if you rear end is gear drive, then you are out of luck, there are no such ports on any gear drive rear. Hope that helps.

Frank, What’s a non running Cub Cadet 800 worth? It’s got a mower deck with no creeper nor does it have rear lift? Are there any other options I should be looking for? Respectfully, James
@woodandmetalshoptime80483 жыл бұрын
Depends on where you live. A non running but complete unit might go for $250, maybe more on the West coast or deep south.

@@woodandmetalshoptime8048 Frank, I was able to get the 800, a 147, and Bolens. Huski Gardener with room to spare from your estimate. Both the 800 and the 147 have 48” decks. From watching your videos, I would assume they have different mules. The 147 is a hydro and has a electric deck raise. I purchased the book you suggested in a previous comment on Farmall Cubs and Cub Cadets. Both mowers are missing the air filter cans and the 800 is missing it’s starter. I think the 147 will be the first one I tackle. Respectfully, James A from East Tennessee

James Acuff The 800 Cub Cadet is the rarest Cadet (2345) made and what makes them special is the engine and it's parts, ( starter ) to name one of them rare parts. If you can to afford to pick an 800 up at any reasonable price for a collection or resale, Do It ! They're highly sought after by many people if they have the CORRECT engine in them and affiliated parts. I know some people that have traveled half way across the country to pick up an 800!
