Jason nice video. I had heart issue a while go in was in hospital almost week . So caching up on your videos was a great way to pass the time. I hope by middle of next month to get back to modeling. Keep up the videos . Rick (Axle) Griess.

Excellent tutorial. I wished I had seen something like this when I started plank on frame/bulkhead. Totally agree with advice about not rushing, I learnt this and it pays. My mind set has certainly changed with time. Gone from trying to finish a model in a short space of time to it takes as long as it takes, just enjoying the challenges and the pleasure of seeing the ship take shape.

Hi Jason, that was an excellent lesson, clear and full explanations, easy to follow. If I ever try wooden ships I know where to look for the most comprehensive tutorials (and I probably will have a go at some point, it looks very interesting). Have a great weekend (I know you have ;)), Dom

Really informative video Jason, thank you. I’ve got about £60 saved towards it so far, so coming along. I see you are at 10.7k subscribers now, soon it will be 11k. At this rate you’ll get to 20k before the end of next year. Keep up the great work.I’m plugging you and Nigel every opportunity I can. There is a beginners airbrush group I’m a member of, and I make suggestions on where to look for guidance on that and other tasks.👍👏

Never worry about that 'Clinker' effect at the bows - I don't think I have ever planked a hull (and I have planked many..) that doesn't have that effect to some extent.

Dear Jason Do you have any recommendations and links for these pin drivers? Cheers Phil

Jason, another great video. I’m looking forward to starting my Sherbourne early next year. Your video series on this build will make that possible. Thank you. I have a question. I do drink tea, but I don’t have an electric kettle so I’ve searched for an alternative. I’m looking at clothing steamers at Amazon. Do you think these might work as a plank steamer/bender? Please continue this video series and your channel. I find it a great motivator and tremendous fun!

@@JohnCScaleModeling great question, I think you should wait until the next episode where I show some other methods first

You can buy a cheap kettle for under £10 though. Some people use an iron

I would have put a bead of glue along the top edge of the plank, where it meets with the plank above it.

Good morning Jason, fantastic tutorial. In regards to the gap in the planking, could you put a shim in to raise the plank. I am thinking of buying the kit and giving it a go
@ModelkitStuff2 ай бұрын
@@paulbridge5706 no you need to take the plank down or the hull shape will be wrong. All will be revealed

Hi Jason…great videos. I really like the method you are using for tapering the individual planks. I am working on my first build, OcCre Polaris and DO not like the way they instruct me to apply the first planking. Every other plank you cut short and then fill in later with a tapered short plank. They also instruct to push the nails all the way in and file them off for the second planking. I have researched using a planking fan and measuring each bulkhead to calculate the taper of each plank. I was wondering what your opinion of that method is for the Polaris (I am not sure if you are familiar with that model)? Do you have any videos on how to use the Planking Fan? Thank you in advance! Frank J from Troy, NY…and Happy Christmas!

@markdeschane44672 ай бұрын
On your Push Hammer, push out the steel part of the hammer part of the tool and rub this part on a magnet, this will magnetize that part of the tool and the nails will not fall out of the tool. Also, why are part 2 and 4 the same?
