What is the wood you are using and how does one acquire it? Cottonwood bark?

It’s not cottonwood bark but almost soft like that. I found it at nearby river. Some kind of driftwood.

I'm just now watching this, and it is AMAZING! I tried carving a skull with my knife and gouges and it turned out ok, but I think I can do better in combination with my Wen rotary tool🤔🤔🤔. Thank you for the inspiration!!!😁
