I do enjoy your episodes, and I am so envious of the fog and mist you are having. I love walking in both hills and woodland, generally my photography just documents my walk that day, whether it be landscape of the hills, seascape along the coast, woodland pathways their colours and fungi in autumn and flowers in summer. I think we had a short autumn here in Yorkshire due to Storm Darragh which blew everything away, so not much colour left on the trees. Not many cobwebs with dew on them to photograph either. I am finding that many of my views of the hills are a bit bland and lack imagination, I could do with a bit of good frost or mist to help with some contrast. So at the moment I am trying to capture close ups of the plants that have died, which can be fun and interesting. I am waiting patiently for some early morning fog, mist or a good frost, but they don't seem to be forthcoming in North Yorkshire. I also want to capture the Yorkshire shores in fog, but again I am still waiting. In early December 2023 I did manage to visit Raincliffe Wood and its large pond (Throxenby Mere) near Scarborough one foggy morning with some early snow, it was magical. It was my first visit there, but the mist didn’t last long. I intend to return this winter, but not had much luck this year so far. I think it is a bit too warm at the moment for the mist or fog to appear. I need to get in a better habit of spotting a composition. I use my 12-100mm on my OM-1 Mk 1 which does give me some really good close ups and allows me to compress my landscapes. I also have a 90mm as just in case I see something, but find I often use my TG-7 for some of my close ups.

I'm very fortunate with the amount of foggy days we have here in the netherlands. Specialy on the eastern borders we're i live. I've seen some amazing videos from your area. I think tom Heaton also lives in north Yorkshire. I would love to spend some time in England somewhere this winter but boat transfer prices are ridiculous. I will hope for that snowfall or frost to kick in for you soon. Hopefully after that it will cross the north sea haha. Thanks for watching and your great comment. Grt guido

I think i walked over 3.5 hours before I came across the first people. Eventually I had to turn home because of an oppointment in the afternoon. This fog lasted for the rest of the day so I could have gone on for a while after this episode. Happy to see you like the videos. Thanks for watchibg and the comment. Grt guido

Still some ice foggy conditions. My last outing was marked by a closed road and a huge tow truck pulling a transport out of the snow bank. Once again you use the fog to the max. The trees you focus on really stand out from the backgrounds. Great compositions.

Terrific images with the path at the beginning of the video. Appreciate the tip of over-exposing slightly when using a polarizer.

Just to clear it out I'm not over exposing but I'm exposing a bit more to the right. Like + 0.7 - +1. I also use it for the fog itself it just looks more white. Another benefit is that the amount of noise is much less when you expose to the right. Thanks for watching. Grt guido

I might get the opportunity next 3 days. Temperature tomorrow to be 41°c. which obviously is too hot to be out. But Tuesday is when we get the change to 20°c so will have massive storm clouds to capture. Then usually spectacular sunset.

@barryaitken9761 yeah I'm thinking about something like that. I've recently seen a great toy for that kind of photography but I haven't purchased it haha. It was a tiny smoke machine. I got a lot of creative ideas when I saw that thibg 😅 musroom with some smoke around it for example 😅 grt guido

Lovely video Guido, and super conditions too. The image at 1:59 has too much space on the left and the bend in the path is too close to the right hand edge of the frame (for my eyes of course :) ), but the image at 2:17 is spot on - the path has room and the space on the left feels comfortable for the mind to disappear into once you've followed the curve of the path. Of course it is all subjective and open to personal opinion and taste ;) For the images at 6:33 it is the 1:1 that is the strongest for me - the aspect ration helps to contain the subjects and focus the mind on the story. Lovely image. Great job sir

I agree with you. That second shot was actually the same lane on the other side. I tought no im not going to record another lane, but in the end, it was the best of the two. Maybe it's also because of the bit of light that came through at the top. That 1x1 is probably going to be in my favourite 2024 images. Naast Kerst is voor ons fotografen herfst toch de mooiste tijd van het jaar? Ik houd juist van de foto's met de kronkelende paden door het beeld heen. Mooie foto's en een mooie locatie, ik heb nog nooit op de Posbank gefotografeerd, moet maar een keer op mijn lijstje komen.

Ik vind eigenlijk elke tijd van het jaar mooi behalve de nederlandse winter. Als er geen sneeuw ligt vind ik het toch vrij dramatisch hier. Zeker de moeite waard al hebben ze het van natuur monumenten het er niet makkelijker op gemaakt met alle regels en afsluitingen. Bedankt voor het kijken en je comment. Grt guido

Perfect conditions and the number of videos is a proof of it 👍 Did you considered to use a wide angel lens during the walk? I find it natural that we take a lot of photos when we get carried away by the conditions. It is difficult to prevent yourself from using the camera 😂 keep up the great work!

Well I didn't really consider the 7-14mm due to the distortion. Those trees would have looked really weird. This was the last video from the trip. Een mooie morgen in het bos, met veel goede en mooie foto’s, soms tref je het 😉 maar welk bos was het. Ik zag dat je veel horizontale foto’s maakt, en een paar 4 kante. Zijn sommige ook niet mooi als ze verticaal zijn? Dat benadrukt de lengte van de bomen en laan?

Dat zou zeker kunnen verticaal en heb er ook meerdere gemaakt alleen vond de verticale bijna allemaal te rommelig. Dit bos ligt ergens op de posbank. Geen idee hoe het heet. Als je vanaf het bezoekers centrum begint te lopen dan kom je er vanzelf een keer doorheen. Bedankt voor het kijken. Grt guido

Zou je me kunnen vertellen hoe jij die aanpassing bij je camera hebt gemaakt zo dat je met die knop aan de voorzijde direct kunt inzoomen? Hoi marga, bedankt voor je compliment. Leuk dat je de video gekekekn hebt. Ik heb 2 of 3 weken terug een video gemaakt hoe ik mijn camera ingesteld heb. Daar kan je ook in zien hoe je de knop functies kan aanpassen. Je moet dan het loopje kiezen uit alle functies dienje kan kiezen. Als je er met de video niet uitkomt laat het dan even weten. Makkelijkste isneen berichtje via mijn site of via instagram messenger ofzo. Grt guidi

I do enjoy your videos, but the constant subscribe pop-ups are annoying. I would suggest that youtubers give the watchers a bit of credit for knowing what they like and are willing to subscribe to without being constantly prompted to do so. Just sayin' ...
