My first video of you, and I was watching 👀 😄 you,I told myself this young woman is going to be in for a long nite. Watching you set the trap and then calling a chap for help was what gotten me to Finnish watching 👀, and your story about your moom got to me. See I as well had heard attack about 2yrs ago,and watching thing like bushcraft and camping really took me back to when I was a child. I always want to do it,but living in N.Y.C. really wasn't ideal 😕. But I have move to the south some back, and seeing all country space down here and open space. I decided to give it a go, and I said that heart attack set me back so my son gotten a place were I took go out back and clear out a spot and make him a 4wheeler bike trial as well a camp sit for me, I have done little, but it is helping me to get back on track of living again. Bless you and just like mother ( moms ) Nature enjoy her inbreassing joy. P. S. Don't forget the masqueto net he he he 😂 😏 🤣 😉

I agree that getting out into nature is brilliant for physical and mental health, I am use to day hiking the mountains, however, I did my first wild camp last weekend in some awful conditions, worrying about that tied with my anxiety really did test my resilience, but I felt so alive when I saw the first glimmer of daylight. I posted the video on my channel, I spoke about how I felt throughout the night in the hope it helps others.

Great vlog well done for taking the plunge. For the mossies try tumble dry sheet's just wipe over skin and hang a couple up in the shelter will help. Also just be careful in the woods if there are a lot of dear about. As you don't want to pick up any ticks from the ground. But keep going your amazing Indeed.

The woman I chose and spent the last 18 years with died In April, it was a year long battle with cancer that we knew she had no chance of surviving so not the same surprise as you had but the end result was the same, I started hiking again towards the beginning of her cancer and those hours in the woods or by the water were what helped me keep my stuff together, I live in northern Michigan, winter brought a lot of snow and plenty of days of well below freezing temps. Outside time was limited which is when I found yours and a few others channels which helped me massively! The result of all this is that next year I'm walking the Appachian trail, taking a few months for me, but what I really wanted to say is that I am grateful for you, especially for sharing your story about your mum and your journey!

Oh Paul, this brings me such mixed emotions. On one hand I send my heart out to you for the loss you suffered and the painful journey you've been on. On the other hand I'm so happy for you having found respite in nature and the courage to push yourself. I have no doubt the appalachian trail will be epic and I hope you have the best time 🙌💪❤️ Thank you so much for sharing your journey and your very kind words. You've touched my heart this morning 🤗 P.S Apologies for the delayed response, I've been off grid for a couple of days 😁

Brilliant video Jem, loving your openness about your journey. Grief is a wicked thing but what better way to heal than be outdoors. Can't beat the small (but big) wins like fitting the pump into your sleeping mat bag! :-D. Similar journey here, been into the outdoors for a while now but had 'life changing' moments in the last year culminating in moving out of my house and into an unfinished van via a tipi for a month in the next week.....daunting but can't wait to spend much more time in nature, you're absolutely right, that's where we're meant to be. 🙂

Hello Jem from NZ .Nice to share your story. As I said to Paul Messner, When I was 16 an old fellow said to me "As you go through life. keep your bags packed lightly" I have only just fully comprehended what he meant. He didn't just mean material things, but mentally as well. I've been in the mountains for over 50 years and it's the forest and mountains that have kept me sane. I have introduced 1000s of people to the forest as a guide and privately and I have seen them change and gain confidence. and grow well mentally. So keep on what you are doing and all the best for the future. Cheers from NZ
