Hi Jem. Paul Ratcliffe making first comment ever. You have inspired me. Just watch your Lake District wild camp vids and well impressed. Would however like to encourage you to count Haystacks as a summit though. If you can't count it as 1 of your 40 it is a Wainwright summit and you crossed 9 Wainwright's off on that outing. A great start to ticking AW's list off. All good stuff Jem, enjoying all you do.
@jemsjournal2 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul! Thank you so much for watching and commenting 🤗 I won't be counting it as a summit towards my 40 @ 40 but it has been logged 😜

Last year I have done a lot of wild camping, this year was planning to also do the same, but ending up in car crash, ended it up for some time, 50% of survival chances, and then being told I might have been disabled for the rest of my life, without being able talk or even walk... Miracle had happened and I can talk and walk, I still wait for my "skull" and eyes to get fixed, in order for having chance of more wild camping. Glad to see some else enjoying it though!

Hi Jem, really enjoyed part 2 of your Lake District Hike. You have progressed so much in body and soul since you first started your channel, have loved every minute following your adventures, thank you so much for putting so much thought and work into these videos, we all appreciate it!. But make sure you give yourself some time off from filming, and just enjoy your own time for your self only. 🙂

Get in Jem!!!😎. That’s some achievement, it’s class when you can see the whole route you’ve walked isn’t it. What’s next on the adventure list and what criteria are you using for your 40 mountains, are you going to have a go at bagging the Wainrights? Arghh, so many questions!😂😂😂
@jemsjournal2 жыл бұрын
Haha. Thanks Andrew! I was in Snowdonia a couple of weeks ago so that video will be coming out next and then the plan is to head to to Yorkshire because I've not been and haven't climbed any mountains there yet 😁 The criteria for my 40@40 is that they have to be solo climbs and anything over 2000ft / 609m counts as a summit. As much as I love the lake district and would spend as much time there as possible, I don't think bagging wainwrights will be an option for me at the moment. The lakes are 6 hours away from me and it's too expensive to get there and back.
@andrewcowan17672 жыл бұрын
Yeah, fuel prices are a pain aren’t they….but, having said that, where there’s a will there a way and the universe works in strange ways. Or something like that!😂. Have you thought about setting up a Patreon account?🤔 I’m liking your criteria, that’s pretty cool…funnily enough the Yorkshire Dales are on my old doorstep and I’ve never walked them, looking forward to seeing what you make of them.

Ah right, I’m not sure how patreon works, I guess you’ve got to actively promote it which might not sit well?🤔. If it helps, I don’t mind chucking cups of coffee your way as often as I can….selfishly I’m getting a fair bit of motivation from your videos and I’m a big believer in supporting folk who are on similar journeys. 😊✌️ Bet you can’t wait, you’re on fire!😂😎. It’s a great feeling when the body and mind responds to the exercise and copes with it better and better. (That was terrible grammar, I do apologise!😂). Back over the lakes for me tomorrow, one more day in Durham at the end of the week then that’s me gone for good….nothing but outdoor adventures for the foreseeable future! Can’t wait!!🤞👏

That looked like it really took it out of you that's some impressive milage for the 1st day but you pushed through and did it.you are definitely getting stronger and looks like some weight loss aswell.im doing the same route this week but I'm breaking it up into 2 camps.ive done dale head side before as part of the newlands round years ago.as for the pack think a 36l would be better but they do tend to start jumping up in price not sure how much the osprey stratos are but there good as for the pad I've started using the thermarest uberlite for 3 season camps so small and light I don't find it 2 noisey either think the xlight is noisey tho.i get sun sticks from decathlon and keep a stick in my pack there great wedgz there called factor 50.
