Just need to get the collars for you hydraulic cylinder, so that you can control the height without guessing. It looks impressive to me.

Looks like a good mower except for the pneumatic tires. Last thing I want to have to worry about is keep four more tires aired up.

Great video and narration but had one question about the field size. What was the average speed when you mowed the 10 Acres ? You said you could do it in 45 minutes. With a 12 foot mowing width you would have to average 10 MPH to do 10 acres in 45 minutes. Or was this just a 10 acre perimeter with a lot of trees, etc. in it with the actual grass size a lot less ? Just wondering how much grass you can really mow per hour with it. Given the 12' bat wing cost about $9000 plus the tractor cost do you feel it is a cost effective way to mow a large field. I see some contractors quoting $30/Acre to do the work. thanks.

A 12' wide rotary cutter will cut 1.45 acres/hour for every mph of speed. So in theory if running 4 mph you'll cut 5.8 acres/hour. When accounting for overlap and turning, you'll do well to cut 5 acres/hour. Hope this helps.

I used a 15ft cutter for over 5 years rite now.but to get your level of the cutter you need jack stopper,at the center jack .so if you go up and bring down it won't pass your level you want.and wont damage your cutter .

I looked at all of the comparable units on line. The BW appears to have the lowest weigh. This likely directly corresponds to the lower HP requirements. In addition I did a price comparison to all the similar models. 13,300.Is the best price I located Within an hours drive from the farm for pickup. I have a 60 hp NH 4WD With one set for hydraulic operation. This unit gets my vote for the above referenced reasons and one more; It’s designed byWoods .

Thanks for the video. I'm shopping for a batwing now and there is a good deal on a woods BW12 locally.

Do they make one a little smaller for 30hp tractor?

Did you cut it twice to get that finish cut quality? Really considering getting this model over there finish mowers. Tbw150c and the Tbw144 are my other options.

Do you still like it? I have an older Woods 12' 7144RD and that's a big issue. It looks like fewer moving parts on the new one.

If you don’t mind i would like to know the make and model of the tractor you are using in this video. I am looking at this mower and was just wondering how your tractor compared to my mahindra 3550.
@benwolfe19813 жыл бұрын
His tractor is gonna be same as your 3550 Mahindra . He said he had 45hp at the pto which makes its 50 ish hp tractor

I have a 36 horsepower tractor with one set of hydraulics. You mentioned an adapter, what's it called and how does it work?
@Gator-127 жыл бұрын
Should have a stop or ring on the lift cylinder to set the height so you can mow same height all the time.

Since having this rotary cutter, have you tried it with a smaller tractor? I know you mentioned a 35hp tractor may pull this unit well.
@youtubuzr4 жыл бұрын
It requires 35HP at the PTO, so probably 42-45HP tractor mininum.
@shannonwhitaker96304 жыл бұрын
Having used one I'd say 50hp and 40+pto hp works just fine. Around 65hp would be a bit more ideal for heavy duty overgrown cutting. Will do low often cut grass on smooth ground at an amazing speed. Tractor barely works to cut the lower green fresh "yard" grass. Cut quality is amazing almost like a giant zero turn or finishing mower with virtually no scraggles left sticking up. Mower will cut evenly right down to putting green height. Great cutter.

Cool video. I recently purchased a Landpride RC2512 I considered the Woods and the Rhino as well as the Bushhog brand. I bought the Landpride over the others because I like the blade carrier better and the gearboxes on the Woods were much smaller than those of the Woods. I like mine as much as you like yours although I mow much taller stuff than you. I posted a video of mine in action as well check it out if you get the chance.

I just attempted to buy one at a dealer in TN. They said that my Massey Ferguson 1455V 55hp engine, 48hp on the PTO was too small and it would be dangerous to use this on hills. They said I would have to upgrade to a 64hp on the PTO. They wanted to sell me a Massey 2607H. Have you used this on hills anywhere? I wish it would work. I felt like they were trying to up sale me. I would need to get remote hydraulic kit on the back. Anyone else have experience w/this mower? Particularly on hills? My property is steep in places.

The weight of this cutter could push smaller tractors around on hills and slopes. Especially if the tractor is not ballasted properly and/or two wheel drive. These smaller size tractors can run the cutter as a “pasture clipper” like was shown in this video. It was all nice clean grasses and cutting a couple feet off at most. Had they truly used this cutter to its capacity, the tractor would have been questionable on having enough power. It is rated to cut small trees and brush up to 1.5” in diameter.

Dont listen to that BS, these old timers say 5hp per ft. but thats just not the case with these newer batwing mowers they are designed for your 55 hp tractor

If you want a heavier duty one, look at the Rhino TS12, Bushhog , Modern Ag Viper 12, or the BushWacker 12 foot mowers. Muh heavier duty. The Modern Ag and BushWacker models handle up to 3in cutting.
