Truth be told when I first saw epoxy resin creations i thought the people who made them were these master glass workers until I realized you used this compound that imitates the weight and feel of glass. I have to hand it to all epoxy artists that your stuff is really cool!

Very nice job. As someone who encapsulates many things in resins, I have a few suggestions that may help you in the future: 1) If you use 1mm plexiglass attached to you outer form as the inside against the epoxy/resin, instead of the packing tape, you will have almost no sanding required for the shiny surface because there would be no seams like those left by the tape. 2) If you vacuum the epoxy before you pour rather than after, you can get a pristine outer surface with no inclusions. Also, In this case, you might want to pour with the top surface being the outer surface. That way, you would only need to prep the top surface after you remove the mold if you used the plexiglass to create the smooth sides. 3) If you want to make sure there are no visible bubbles in the pour, you might want to consider a pressure pot to put the freshly poured item to cure in. You only need a pressure of around 60psi (4.2bar) to hide any remaining microbubbles. You can make them fairly inexpensively from a 2.5 gallon paint pot like those found at harbor freight or vevor.

#2 by not doing how it was done in the video any air inside is trapped and can escape, especially with slow cast resins regardless if you put it in a pressure pot or not. A presure pot only makes the air bubbles smaller since air compresses. I know I've done resin tables for over 35 years and small casting can be a real PITA. I have done full vacuum infusion with a piece of oak that came out weighing like a boat anchor. What I do have to commend the creator of this vidoe is of the surface polishing technique. The most tricky surface to polish is the one s where it is side lit. It will show every darn micro scrach and this looks perfect!!! I know I have tried to polish 80 feet of side lit polycabonate that some kids scratched when vandalishing a lit wall protecting a display in a museum, I have tried everything from vapor polishing to using a torch like in some videos to the basic compound, polish, glaze techniques used on gelcoat. Side lit ot lit from the bottom is incredibly difficult since the light refractions of a scratch show at all angles. Take a bow, what you did was incredible with the polishing alone!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would have reduced the labour by 75% and not worry about the over arching HD projector etc. The bottom lighting through the cast would be enough...for me. The model would also be more visible from various angles. Always nice to see process...thanks for offering you're time.

This is such a cool project! the lighting was cool enough but to put in an LED projector on the top is over the top! While Maisto makes good replicas they do have their flaws. I am a Scale Model builder and myself, I would have built the model to extremely High Standards, with a Tamiya Model kit, in a larger scale as well, put in LEDs in the headlight, signal and Taillights with inductive coils attached to them inside of the body of the Bike, and built a stand similar to yours, since it is Damn Cool, with a remote charging coil inside of it so when you turned on the charging coil, all of the lights in the Bike would have turned on. without a single wire in sight, because the only wires would have been inside of the hollow form of the model itself. LEDs are getting smaller by the month so small in fact that they are getting hard to see properly. So fitting LEDs inside of tiny spaces is no longer an issue. and with tiny finger drills you can hollow out almost anything to make room for some tiny wires. Yes Sir. a Scale model kit like that would put anything Maisto makes to shame. But unless you have such a built kit right next to this one, you're not going to notice anything amiss, and this display is an awesome piece of art! Well done sir! You did an excellent job! I'm sure there are many people out there who would love to own this piece!!!
