Thank You Afshin...Who does not like Maple Burl ...wonderful grain..I liked your choice of the second base instead of the first for the Maple Burl, but that is not to say I did not like the Ebony base. I agree with you. The Ebony would be great with the right size, shape, top bowl (and of course with a very secret hiding place inside...ha)...Nice work Afshin, you make wood turning look easy. Please keep up the good work....tm

I have watched all your work and this piece with the matching bottom is just beautiful. I love this shape a d have various similar in glass, stone, ceramic. I am not at all in wood turning, just admiring what talented people like you make out of a piece of wood. I have watched many of your fellow wood turners and find that you are very talented and a true artist. Keep on believing in your self.wishing you all the best and looking forward for your future pieces of art.

It’s nice to have options to combine the two of three amazing pieces of your choice. Nice work and materials as always. Those must be some sharp tools judging by how well they cut that confused burl grain.

Switching to the spalted base was definitely the right choice. It’s a much better match both in color and proportion. Beautiful piece. As an added bonus you have spare base ready to go for larger project.

Thank you Afshin, for another masterpiece and for the mention. You have a good eye for proportion as the blackwood wasn't quite right. My wood turning club doesn't sit during July and August as there are too many people on holidays. However, we resume tomorrow and have a great demonstrator coming. I'm looking forward to seeing my friends and the good-natured comments e.g "are you still using 20 grit sandpaper?".
