Great looking bowl and a perfectly placed crack to stop you feeling guilty when drilling the 10mm hole. MIL will be pleased I am sure. Thanks too for talking us through the challenges just before you take them on, something so many experienced turners omit to do in their videos. In other words you make a great instructor. Well done all round.

As a prolific knitter, but not a spinner, I look for a deeper, slightly narrower bowl with a bit of incurve at the rim, and a heavy base. Some bowls have one or two small holes, which can be used to put a bit of drag on tricky yarns, or to feed a double strand. I am really enjoying your no-nonsense approach and your classic, lovely shapes. Thank you.

Hi Theodora, thanks for the comment, I really appreciate it. The dish you describe any wood turner in your local area can do it for you .. if they cant, I have to do it 😬 although I think the postage will be absolutely wild 😱😂 Thank you very much for watching .. stay safe and have a nice day 😀😀

I have made yarn bowls before and I am curious as to how this one worked. It is much shallower than the ones I have made. Didi it work well as a yarn bowl?
@WOODTURNINGBYBRANDSTRUP4 жыл бұрын
Acording to my Mother in law it work perfekt for the small yarn she use to make socks, she did not have Any large yarn roles.. So cant anwser about that 😁😁 thank you for watching i really apprciate it... Stay safe and have a great day 😁
@dennynebgen22834 жыл бұрын
@@WOODTURNINGBYBRANDSTRUP Thank you for your reply. I was wondering that because I have lots of shallower bowls but, had always used or made deeper ones to use as yarn bowls. Might be able to make a couple shallower ones to see if people like that idea.

Very nice and I really enjoy your channel. But to be honest I think your cut out is too open, without enough curl back to the hole. I think the yarn will keep coming out. I have found that a bigger end hole and narrower slot works best. I hate to be critical and hope you find it constructive. Cheers, Jim Montana wood art.

Hi Jim, I do find it constructive in fact I apprciate the comment, I made this channel exatly for this to get and somtimes give tips.. I Will defenetly follow your advice on the next yarn bowl 👍👍😁😁 thank you very much for watching I really apprciate it 😁Stay safe and have a great day 😁
