Thank you for making this video. I have been trying to make trees look like that but just could not figure how to cut it right to get that look until now.

Thank you. Glad it helped. That's what the videos are for. The next vids are for baubles.

I definitely feel better now……..Seeing you back off the tailstock before you placed piece in the chuck! I did that same thing the other day …. Got ahead of myself and forgot that one little step 🥴😵💫. Do you use guitar strings to burn your accents or regular wire? Good job on the trees 🤠🇨🇱

Thanks Randy. Forgot to do a tenon. 🤪I use Mig welding wire.

Question: What metal and gauge diameter wire do you use for burnishing? Is it solid wire or braided? I have an 18 gauge piece of braided wire and it’s too small to burn the bottom and both sides. I tried a 12 gauge solid copper wire and it gets way too hot even with handles.

At the moment I am using 08 mig welding wire. Yes copper can get hot but that's why I use two coach bolts for handles.

I found braided wire in a bunch of sizes. Never thought of this. Using picture frame wire from Lowes. I purchased several sizes, made handles for them to accommodate all sizes of projects that I work on! Check it out, hope this helps someone too!

That's pretty dry... I did one from our fresh tree and then spent two hours with acetone cleaning sap and chips frim my lathe, tools and bench. Never again! 🙄

It was cut down over a year ago. We put it in the ground. It went totally brown around July. Wet wood can be a bugger.
