Same, your ideas and reasons for doing things bring it all together! Not to mention the mistakes you sometimes claim (the things you do on here rarely look like an oops to me haha!) to have made along the way but turned them into something beautiful anyway are cool to hear about. =)

Nice Maracas. When I lived on the US/Mexico border, I use to buy maracas in Juarez, MX. They were beautifully painted, but they were also made of very thin and cheap wood and would not last anytime. The ones you turned are much nicer and I like the geometric design you put on them. VERY NICE TOUCH!!! Keep those wood shavings flying!!!!!!!

5% here. This was a double treat. Woodturning and maracas. Since I am a rhythm "specialist" in our church praise team AND I dabble in turning, both were appropriate. Also, I used to be in radio. I tried TV, but I had couldn't talk to the camera so that career went nowhere. Of course, it didn't help that I have a face for radio. 😁

This was a great idea. I love the basket illusion on the maracas! LOL I was here at the end. Evidently you're not a solo player, Carl! I have a suggestion for what you can do at the end of each video.....I've been wanting to say this, so here goes. You spend all this time making the projects just to quickly show the end product in 5 seconds flat. Please slow down and take the time to show us everything about the product, then sit it on display and give us the time to admire it. Show us how proud you are of what you just made by displaying it proudly. Go back and watch the end of anyone of your projects and take note of how fast you are about it. Take your time showing us, Carl. You do such good work! Thank you!!!!

What you just described, that "weird feeling", is similar to "stage fright", where you think you are going to make a mockery of yourself in public, when, actually, it's all in your mind. And you have successfully proven yourself successful in your videos. I know, because I made one myself.

Not sure if I shared this story with you.... When we were little we went camping to Yosemite. The redwood trees were absolutely beautiful went all the way up beyond the clouds. Left room for imagination of Jack and the Beanstalk; one of our stories at the campfire. My dad had gathered up four baby redwood trees one for me and my three siblings. He planted them in our backyard. The trees grew very tall and rather quick. Our neighbor Ricky told my daddy that it was illegal for us to grow redwood trees in our part of the city. With that being said, my father had the trees cut down. At the base of the tree all four redwoods had grafted together. We each helped my dad handcraft a little four leaf clover table and a heart-shaped tray. It's rough around the edges, he didn't have a late or a router everything was done by hand and it's so beautiful with good memories. Those two pieces are probably the best out of all of my furniture. Ok. Have a great day. Just thought I'd share this with you. From, Kat
