My friend at church retired and he makes beautiful parkea bowls and vases. It is nice to see a young person is carrying on the tradition. Thank you for showing us this. I am certain that present will be a wow to your wife.

Okay I'm glad I found your channel. Yes I subscribed. You ask for suggestions. Are you ready....first stay true and honest. You notice I say stay. You are doing it right. Yes the wood will tell you what it wants to be. . . Every woodturning knows that. Share what works. You like your branding iron. List them in them below. Like the finish. . . Say so. On the crotch vase you used water based finish. I never ever use water based finish so if you liked it say so. You dont have to worry about products that fail if you only talk about what works. I like mylands sanding sealer but I don't have a KZbin channel and I don't want one. I saw it on another channel and I tried it. Can't imagine life without it. Just keep it honest. Finally the combined music and tool sound is perfect.

He has asked me to keep in touch with you all for him. :) You are so spot on Christine! Any chance I get to request another piece of my husband's artwork, I take it! Holidays, anniversaries, birthdays... I ask for a new creation! I hope to one day have a collection to pass down to my children of all of my special art from their father

Hello. I like the way you comment first and then do your work. The music is also very nice. But I would love to see you using a pushing stick on the band saw like you are using such a tool on the table saw. But I guess that the pushing stick for the band saw needs to be sturdier and thicker. Like that firewood cut off in the beginning. Also you wedding ring is a potential risk for getting hurt while wood turning. Makes me wonder though since I see you wearing a mask and ear plugs. And this is a very happy woman which gets such a beautiful and awesome bowl as mothers day present. Although it is a pity that you could not keep the rim. But sometimes such projects have their own development. I know that by my own experience. I am no wood turner, but an artist in wire- and needleworks. Thank you for sharing this project via youtube video.

@dukaheritage94454 жыл бұрын
Thank you George for the kind words, I was originally trying to mimic the ring bowl I had made for my wife anyway so It was the original design idea, the rim just kinda happened in the shaping process. Overall I think it made for a better look :)

That turned out awesome like the end grain now is that considered a segmented bowl? Great job
@dukaheritage94454 жыл бұрын
Im glad you asked :) segmented bowls consist of much more than what this video represents as a composite turning. Segmented pieces consist of multiple composites all in one. It is an artform in itself :) Much like making damascus steel. Hope this helps.
