After watching this I glued up some baltic birch and am turning a bowl. I have never tried using the skew or parting tool for bowls but the skew works great as long as its kept sharp. I want to try the spindle roughing gouge to smooth the outside like you did but I am not an expert. As long as one takes small bites it is ok? Your bowl is beautiful!

Nice bowl! I like using plywood, though the glue a little tough on tools. However, your use of the sliding mitre saw by crossing your arm in front of the cutting edge of the blade is not a safe practice despite the blade guard being in place. Never depend upon tool safety devices to prevent injury. They do fail from time to time. Best practice is to use the tool safely as if there was no guard in place. Work safely, friend!
