Lovely bowl. I was worried about that large split. But then you filled and glued it. Well done. Loads of character. I hope it does well for you.

How do you get such a deep depth of cut even with 3-4” of the tool off the post?

I wish I could give you an answer you would like but the only answer that is honest is.. practice. The length over the tool rest is irrelevant what is important is the ratio of over hand to handle length.

Ha, thanks. Iv been tuning for 22 years. Not sure there’s been any improvement in the last 15-18 years tho. Turning is fairly straightforward after you’ve learned the basics.
