love the way the way the grain looks. interesting shape with the cowl collar. I just split up a BUNCH of Bradford pear branches (tree trimmings, now firewood ) that would have been great for this so I'll let the Arborist know I want some more! Cant wait to try this!

Robbie, That's a really nice vase. I just cut down a pear tree and have a bunch of pieces about that size. i'm gonna have to try it. Do you worry about the toxicity of Yew? Have you ever experienced any adverse reaction to it. The lists I've seen on wood toxicity list Yew as severe.

Hi Robbie As a newcomer (started in December 2014) I am looking to purchase some deep hollowing tools I have been told the the Kelton McNoughton set of 3 hollowing tools are very good as they do not tend to grab,(one of my problems dig in's). Have you used them and what do you think of them?
@Robbiethewoodturner10 жыл бұрын
Paul Lewis Hi i haven't used the Kelton McNaughton hollowing tools can't say. they are scraper tools not cutting like any scraper and can give a catch here's a link to the crown tool i am thinking of investing in one kzbin.info/www/bejne/fpfMZKqajsZ1iKM

I noticed you have a shake, in your hands. I've just started turning and was worried about my shaking and what effect it would have on my work. I also was concerned about my hands getting tried. Any pointers would be welcomed. Thanks for a great video.
@Robbiethewoodturner10 жыл бұрын
Jim Skaggs it can be hard to turn smoothly when shaking trying to control the tool and the shakes only say don't let it stop you turning i try to lock the tools in to my side and use my body to move the tool. yes my hands get sore and i take a brake. some days it can be frustrating so i just leave it alone keep taking my pills helps LOL
@jarmstrong28434 жыл бұрын
What happens to Robbie the Wood Turner? He has not put out a video in quite some time and I sense he has some health issues by the shake I see in his hands. Robbie is such a good teacher and well natured fellow. I hope he is doing ok nowadays in 2020.
