Yes it's great...just awesome! Now you wet sand after the tung oil/Howard Feed & Wax sanding sealer, correct?
@JensHovingaWoodturning
@JensHovingaWoodturning 11 ай бұрын
Yes thats correct, with a 400 of 600 gritt, then when you finish and clean it up, you give it a last layer with oil, after an hour you rub it out with a dry cloth.

@@JensHovingaWoodturning I wish others did this. They just think wet sanding will gum up sand paper and make a mess.

Beautiful work. However, I pictured not cutting the branches, but leaving them intact, by separating the foot like making a box, then hollowing from the bottom and reattaching the base to apply the finish. My picture was a bowl with branches laying across it.

Thank you for your comment, another view and insight, nice. I turned and handled the block several times before I wanted to start, but I hadn't thought of your option yet,😃👍

Why’d you add Tung oil to Howard’s orange oil?
@JensHovingaWoodturning
@JensHovingaWoodturning 10 ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment. Howard's, when it is a bit cold, is quite viscous and does not spread very well, my wood oil/tung oil does not have that problem, of course I could have just used tung oil, but I also wanted a hard top layer, carnauba wax in Howard's gives me that, so the best of both worlds 😁 In my next video (I hope Friday), I will show how and why you can dilute tung oil with turpentine.

Nice bowl, but you need to ad audio instead of being silent, it would make your videos much better!!

Thank you for your comment, I'm still a bit searching, I mute the sound of my extractor, but I don't want to play music with it either, it's a bit personal I think.
