You made this piece October 2018 and had 31,000 subscribers. I watched today, December 20, 2020 and you have 152,000. Well done, Marine! I am away from home and my lathe, so I have been on a marathon of turning videos. Yours are at the top of the list. My wife knows what's going on and understands. Thank you for all your informative videos that help me fill the day and help with the learning process. I'm getting older but still try to learn something new every day. Semper Fi. 🇺🇸

Such a lovely piece. Thank you for posting your thoughts as well as your work. I found the woodturning videos on KZbin about a month ago. Just watching and listening has become a form of meditation for me. It helps me cope with my physical and mental disabilities. I would love to be in a situation to turn wood but, sadly, it's not possible for many many reasons. Thank you again for your efforts. They touch lives more than you realize.

Few people would have taken that original piece of wood and seen the potential in it. Beautiful end result. You're right about the spores in spalted wood. Spores thrive in dark, moist areas - just as in our lungs. Subs are steadily rising. Semper Fi.

That’s a lovely piece Rod. Spalted wood is one of my favourites to turn ( plenty of it here in the UK with our inclement weather), it’s often punky but perseverance gets me there in the end. I use a high quality sanding sealer and load the piece ( dry sanding between coats) until it won’t take any more. Final sand through the grits & finish with a natural colour paste wax. Those were some beautiful photos from other turners, it’s great to see how many people are enjoying this centuries old craft. Thank you for sharing, I always enjoy watching you at work/play & nice to watch in real time or close to it. Happy turning from a chilly England. Geof

This bowl is truly exceptional in that you have found beauty in unexpected places much like the ghost in the wood of your pumpkin bowl. You had asked for comments on the speed in which you tape your videos. For me that is not as important as your commentary regarding the process of making each item and how you trouble shoot what goes wrong and how to fix it. Also love how you showcase the work of other artists. That is very generous of you. Love your work. Have been following you since 18K. Really happy to see others have come on baord since. - Marly
