Hi Jim, a greatly appreciated presentation this week again. Hi wish your son the happiest wedding day and lot's of pleasure for you parents. I enjoyed your added information on your motives going to woodturning. I completely share your motives ! After 42 years working as a university professor, rresearcher and international consultant travelling extensively around the world (almost 4 months per year on the road) I cherrish the peacefulness of my garage shop, the gratification of creation and holding finsihed products in my hand. All is positive contrary to the "bitching world od academia" I lived in for so long. I unfortunately started only at 71 and doubt I will ever be able to do all the different objects I'd like to try... Thanks for enabling us to learn so much from your videos, for selfmade turners it is invaluable.

hey, we have a tax of 24%, get rid of it then. $200 is also an impossible price for us. Nobody will even look if you put one on the price tag. In Finland, it is really difficult to support yourself as a woodturner, and on top of that, support your family. I'm happy if I get the coffee money on top of the expenses😂😂

Love the pepper and salt mill sets but can easily see how they could become a chore. I love the resin ones, especially the red / orange set but my absolute favourite is the wooden set for your son. I just love that cherry. I definitely think the price needs to be reflective and cost of everything has gone up so people should expect crafters to also increase prices. It always amazes me how people will happily spend a lot for shop bought things made in big factories but seem to expect to pay less for handcrafted individual pieces. Maybe that's just here or my experience. Hope the wedding goes well and the weather is kind. Many congratulations to your son and daughter-in-law. And I hope you get time to enjoy it. Thanks as always for sharing your awesome talent with us. Stay safe. Sarah x

sandpaper. Like the video, it reminded me I have 10 pepper mill kits I got about a year ago whed William Woodwrite had them on sale for around $10 each. I got into woodwork after I retired . Bought a small lathe after I ran across Jim Shavers website 'pens for Canadian peacekeepers'. Made and donated over 100 pens didn't have an engraver then so they were'nt engraved like the one I sent you. A letter of encouragement went with each pen. Best thank you was from a major who said he had used my pen that morning to sign the orders to bring his guys home. Still do some flatwork but turning is much more enjoyable.
