I've been turned off of epoxy by some people who seem to be using it as a substitute for material and imagination. You are using it as an enhancement, emphasizing the wood rather than the additives. Very tastefully done! And I personally think it has the perfect amount of being. Good job!

That is definitely ironwood. It grows here in Minnesota. It’s not really that hard, and it’s quite easily worked, but it is a very dense material and very very strong. It’s one of few woods that sinks in water. Ebony is another. I gave my son a small split piece of iron wood that was about twice the size of a carpenters pencil and 7 inches long. I told him to take it to school to see if anyone could break it with two hands. He had fun with it because lots of kids tried to break it, but nobody could. I’m 6’1”, 220 pounds and I couldn’t break it. It was like trying to break a 7 inch piece of iron,… hence the name.

No! The pigment is strong enough! Love it not "blinged-up". Hi Jim, it turned out beautiful. I looked up the iron wood tree. The buds are like the colour of shift. And the flowers in the tree are yellow . The common name for tree is Hop-Hornbeam comes from the fliwers of the Ironwood, which resemble clusters of hops. It a beautiful tree. The light through the pot is so pretty. The colour you picked pays respect to the tree, I think anyway. The wood is so detailed now the tree will live on another way. Great job as always. Have a great weekend. Take care.

I can appreciate a bit of transparency, so at least on this side of the camera it compliments the wood perfectly. The wood has so much character, I love that it's center focus!
