Indeed, the Base Camp Dust Mask is a great mask. There are a couple others that are similar that work well too. I have to say that the straps on this one looks more comfortable than some I’ve seen. Look like they will hold up longer than some others as well. The important thing is that it works. Thanks for sharing this impressive Dust Mask.

Thanks Mike, there can never be too many reminders about the importance of PPE; I know, and yet I still have to actively think about wearing it - I have now positioned PPE near the door into the workshop, so that I see it as soon as I enter. It always amazes me that I think I use the dust extractors every time and yet there are always layers of dust on surfaces - I don't want that in my lungs!!

Thanks, Mike! The newer version looks much more comfortable to wear. I like the upper head band instead of the ear loops. When you wear glasses and behind the ear hearing aids, the upper head band make much more sense.

Agree fully with everything you said. I've had one for years and have really appreciated how comfortable and effective it is. Two further comments: 1. They are intended to protect the wearer from dust and will probably do a good job in protecting the wearer from other atmospheric contaminants. But they have an exhalation valve and are therefore not truly medical-grade protection. 2. There are similar masks available from other companies. I bought one and found that unlike the Base Camp mask, the look-alike was made from a coarse artificial fiber that, after a few hours of wear, feels like 40 grit sandpaper.

Dust mask. Not remembering to put one on has always been something I still do. My sinus is so bad now on one side because of a tumor in my head. They got 90% of it but pressure now and then and a pin hole to breathe through. I definitely have to remember to do it now! That is bad enough but dust is never good for anyone turning, wood working what ever. Dust into your body is to be avoided.
