You are a genius - the design work and technique are quite remarkable, not to mention the tools themselves! Never seen a brace like that, but I have seen many a lathe operator on KZbin lose their amazing creation when it flies off the lathe... That is a great solution!

Now I want to see a Turdecken log. Bore out a log and insert another, and another inside the 2nd as well. Maybe after that you could split it and join it with a half of another Turdecken. And then do a quartered version. So on and so on

I can never get over the fact that once you've glued pieces of wood together, and force-pressed them, and cut them evenly, and whatever else you do .. I can't believe they're not the one piece of wood !! :)
@BigButtocks967
@BigButtocks967 2 жыл бұрын
To all extents and purpose once glued they are one piece of wood as the glued joint is in-fact stronger than the wood itself.

Wow Oliver, this is a fabulous vase, the two different woods look so amazing together. I wonder if you could do the same with, 4 or 6 or 8 different woods, well if anyone could do it, it would only be you. You are far more adventurous than any other turner, everyone else seems obsessed with resins although a centimeter of different colored resin between 4,6,or8 woods would look absolutely amazing. But you perhaps think this is a silly idea. I’ve let my imagination run a little wild xxxxx
